I agree. A tactical withdrawl on the debt ceiling and budget/spending is acceptable in this case because it allows the political focus to be kept on the damage being inflicted by Obamacare.
The Dems have shown that they can hurt Republicans with the debt ceiling and budget/spending. But the Dems OWN Obamacare. Enabling a big political distraction from Obamacare between now and the election, ones that have already been shown to hurt Republicans, is insanity.

You miss the point why conservatives are so upset. The main problem isn’t caving this particular time. The issue is that there is never a good time to substantively engage obama according to the GOP leadership.
There is no focus on anything from the GOP. We have sitting GOP member insulting fellow GOP members as “morons” on TV today. Boehner does nothing. McCain does similar. McConnell does nothing.
There is no message focus in the beltway GOP. Saying just pass the debt limit and we will focus on obamacare is a false choice. It isn’t going to happen. All we will get is more of the same. Big talk and no action.

They are doing EVERYTHING in their power to stop any thinking Conservative from supporting any republican for reelection. Well, I think they actually took big action back in October 2013. So after the MSM and others were done, tell me just how well did they do? It looked to me like certain people in the GOP sold conservatives a bill of goods back in October, 2013 and as it turned out they whipped the base up knowing there would be a loss and sure enough there was a political loss.
You actually think it is wise from a political point of view to touch the third rail again? I sure don’t.
Right now there is a big spilt in the house GOP with many not willing to raise the debt ceiling at all while others want to use it to get other issues solved. That is a big problem as well.
Finally, the GOP only has control of one part of the branch of government. It has to get control of more branches of the government and has to unite on various issues.

Boehner has admitted he did not believe in the fight during the shut down. You don’t win when your Generals don’t want to fight.
The GOP is divided and facing the united Dems. The GOP allows freelancing progressives to distract from the party message. The Dems are always executing a game plan and do not allow any deviation from the message of the week. Guess who wins?
