Attorney General Eric Holder announced Saturday that the Justice Department will now follow a landmark Supreme Court ruling on same-sex spouses, which means they will no longer be compelled to testify against each other in civil and criminal cases.
The policy changes mean same-sex spouses also should be eligible to file jointly for bankruptcy and have the same rights and privileges in federal prison as inmates in heterosexual marriages.
Prosecutors have used various legal challenges against the spousal privilege. But Holder made clear the federal government will no longer make such challenges, even in states where same-sex marriages are not recognized.

I am a female voter of America. I voted against all of this. I am sick and tired of being lumped in with stupid females, who are just as uneducated and pathetic as the males who also voted for this evil administration. I for one female did not vote blindly and I highly resent being called an idiot because of my anatomy. Many of us are avid free republic supporters and are sick and tired of being vilified as man hating, sluts who are blind, stupid and ignorant. I demand an immediate apology to myself and all the other people of wisdom and honesty who know evil when they see it who just happen to be ladies.
Of course there are exceptions, of which you are one. You are to be commended but there’s no getting away from being part of a group as a whole, as gays are a group, and blacks, and males.. and females. Who does the left specifically target for their vote during elections? Females. Why? Because historically they are easy to manipulate by pandering to their emotions. Why do you think discussion of the ‘War on Women’ only comes up at election time? It’s to stir the passions of females because they typically vote with their feelings and not with logic or reasoning. Like it or not, THIS IS FACT and there’s not an ounce of ill will when I state facts.
If you said liberal women, or a large number of easily duped women, I, a Conservative, right wing nut, would not feel discounted. You would be surprised how many of us are out here. Maybe we are not the majority, but we are a substantial number not to be underestimated. There are also a number of women who are simply uneducated and ill informed, who could be converted to our side especially if they realized that they will not be alone, as there are a good number of Conservative ladies out here. Lumping all women into the liberal group is counter productive. I understand your point, but believe we should not stereotype 50 percent of the population.
