Ripping up the playground rulebook is having incredible effects on children at an Auckland school.
Chaos may reign at Swanson Primary School with children climbing trees, riding skateboards and playing bullrush during playtime, but surprisingly the students don't cause bedlam, the principal says.
The school is actually seeing a drop in bullying, serious injuries and vandalism, while concentration levels in class are increasing.

Please, please spread this around to everyone you know. Our education system is at the core of what’s wrong in this country. We need the House, the Senate, and the WHut, but control of the education system is crucial.
This fascinating article shines light on the liberal idiocy that runs our schools.
Please pass this on.
Wow, letting noisy active little boys be noisy active little boys instead of making them into quiet little girls actually is a good thing! Who’d thunk it. how about those folks with common sense.
The number one rule of having a knife at school when I grew up, was that it better not be out in class. They were gone till the end of the year. Teacher kept them in her drawer. Same for yoyos.
School-teaching nuns recognized for decades the value of a little steam-letting recess.
I think it is more like burning up your testosterone outside running and jumping and then when you come back inside, you are ready to sit still and use your mind.
A great big, DUH! from Maddie10
BFL. Common sense!
“Sort of like letting kids play with dogs and sleep with them. They may get a few minor infections but it overall strengthens their immune systems and makes them healthier.”
Feed your dog right and they can shake off the infections they pick up from the dirty little beasts in no time.
Hell, we played mumbly-peg on the playground! Polished your knife skills, don’cha know!
Thanks for posting this.
I sent this to my wife and mother.

This is unsurprising. Some cities have eliminated their traffic signs and signals and there is less speeding, fewer accidents.
German town abolishes traffic lights and codes. Accidents are now almost non-existent!

“And then the grownups started....and they moved in.......The Monkey Bars.........The Monkey Bars came in.....we lost 124 kids in one day.” - Bill Cosby (Playground)
It’s not just little boys.
When my daughter was in young she loved to climb trees and was into gymnastics which she loved to practice on the school playground but was reprimanded for doing so.
Cartwheels, flips and tumbles were not allowed.
Climbing trees was not allowed.
Certain moves in jump rope were not allowed.
Rocket-shipping from the swings was not allowed (my favorite when I was a kid).
The playground rules list went on and on.
Kids have a lot of energy. They need to have a place and time to expend it.
