'There's no Asian way of looking at physics', says Perth teacher Marko Vojkovic (Australia)
The Australian ^ | JANUARY 11, 2014 | PAIGE TAYLOR AND MARK COULTAN

FOR many years, Perth chemistry and physics teacher Marko Vojkovic has been at the front of the fight against what he describes as sociology in the teaching of sciences.

He led opposition to Western Australia's ill-fated outcomes-based education curriculum in 2007 and says he recognised some of its telltale signs when teachers got their first glimpses of the national curriculum in 2010.

For example, the edict that sustainability, the Asian century and indigenous perspective should be taught as part of physics and chemistry did not sit well with Mr Vojkovic. "I don't think there's a particularly Asian way of looking at physics - these are nature's laws," he said.

The Coalition's plans to shift back to a curriculum it describes as "orthodox" is the latest chapter in what has been a deeply divisive issue within the sector in recent years.

In March 2010, the then prime minister Kevin Rudd and his education minister Julia Gillard announced plans to rework the national curriculum to incorporate themes of Aboriginal histories and culture, sustainability, and Australia's engagement with Asia across the key subject areas of English, mathematics, science and history.

The plan was based on the Melbourne Declaration, which was, in the words of its preamble, about building "a democratic, equitable and just society - a society that is prosperous, cohesive and culturally diverse". It called for a sense of global citizenship, and said Australian children had to become "Asia literate". It sought to emphasise Australia's indigenous cultures "as a key part of the nation's history, present and future".

...as part of the "cross-curriculum priorities" of mathematics, students would "explore connections between representations of number and pattern and how they relate to aspects of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures"...

That left wing garbage needs to get ditched from the classroom real quick.

Replace 'Australia' with 'America' and 'Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander' with 'Native American Indian'. Sound familiar?

The chief offender against the scientific method in the classroom is global warming.

I always believed, as much as the left claims they hate the Nazis, they have tried to copy them, because “jewish physics” was one of their propaganda messages.

The "Left" didn't have a problem with Hitler and the Nazis until they attacked the Soviet Union.

After that, all bets were off.

The reason the Left hates Nazis is because Stalin hated Hitler and created a lot of anti-Hitler propaganda that the Left still believes.

Both were collectivists. Hitler was the national version and Stalin was the international.

Actually I would say it is the science of evolution; in terms of macroevolution.

That’s really what I was saying “what?” about.

The World can thank the German Jew, David Hilbert, for materializing Euclid’s postulates.

The Left actively supported Hitler's Nazi Party and created a Moscow directed and funded “Peace Movement” in this country that agitated to keep the US out of the war in Europe so Hitler and Stalin could crush Europe and Asia and co rule the world to together with some token tolerance for the Japanese.

Roosevelt's VP Henry Wallace was an open and enthusiastic supporter of Stalin and of Soviet Communism from the 1920’s onward.

Wallace was officially a Progressive and in a visit to Russia in 1941 he was given a tour of the horrible gulag camp at Magadan.

Wallace was filled with enthusiasm by what he saw in Soviet Russia and in the gulag because he found such a powerful coercive tool to impose his progressive agenda on people.

At the end of World War II, it ha=s been revealed by historians such as Allen Weinstein that Wallace even went so far as to arranged secret meetings with the Stalin's chief spy and NKVD Washington station chief, offering him access to American scientists working on the atomic bomb.

Jewish physics? Is that the physics that built the atomic bomb?

Even the very concept of truth is under attack. If you realy want to study asia and asian connections, then ok..fine put it into history, geography and sociology. But science and math are absolutes and unbending. It doesnt matter what your cultural or ethnic background is, 2+2=4. Any other answer is not ‘culurally insensitive’...its just plain wrong.

Exactly right. As we show in our book, “A Patriot’s History of the Modern World”, anti-war protestor LITERALLY turned their signs around and painted “Support the USSR Now!” The day after the invasion.

This has been a battle within the science community for years with a push to end “Euro Centric” science (I.e., real science).

No. It was Jews doing physics that built the bomb.

Ever heard of the Comintern?

From what I have read the differences that Trotsky and Stalin were their visions of what collectivism was supposed to be. Trotsky looked at it with a more Jewish idealism while Stalin did not.

Stalin himself was an anti-Semite (surprise!) which just added more fuel to the fire. He was planning his own pogrom/Holocaust within Soviet borders to get rid of Jews there but while he was on vacation his doctor slipped him a mickey that caused him to die.

This is known today as the Little Purim because Stalin died on the Jewish holiday of Purim. Read the story of Purim and you’ll understand his death better.
