Ezra Klein Is Said to Plan to Leave Washington Post

Ezra Klein, an analyst, columnist and television commentator who runs The Washington Post’s Wonkblog, is making plans to leave the newspaper after failing to win support for a new website he wanted to create within the company, according to four people with knowledge of the negotiations.

Mr. Klein, who quickly ascended into the ranks of the Washington media establishment with a multiplatform blend of policy nuance and number-crunching on Wonkblog, approached Katharine Weymouth, the Post’s publisher, in recent weeks, the people said.

After consultation with the newspaper’s editor, Marty Baron, according to one of the people, he put forward a proposal with detailed revenue projections to build a new website dedicated to explanatory journalism on a wide range of topics beyond political policy. It would have been affiliated with The Post, the person said, but would have been a separate enterprise. The investment he sought, the person said, was in eight figures.

Ms. Weymouth and the paper’s owner, Jeff Bezos, declined to support the project.

Gosh, this is so sad. It's like an orchestra of a million teeny tiny violins all played the saddest note ever at the same time.

And the founder of the JournoList .... or at least, its keeper when it was up and running (under his supervision, anyway ... probably still up, somewhere else).

Maybe we could all be waiting for him at the curb with dogs and torches.

And like Pajama Boy, he'd like other people to fund his expensive and stupid ideas.

“Explanatory journalism.” Oh, that's a good one. I think we all know what Ezra's “explanatory journalism” would look like. It would make the Brezhnev-era editors of Pravda blush.

Ezra Klein is nothing more than a leftist propagandist. You know, the guy who started Journ-O-List in a brazenly dishonest effort to shape events in favor of his homosexual buddies while smearing any so-called Republican — just because.

Klein is a dishonest person who ha made Liberalism his god and serves his false god with stout allegiance.

Sounds like Klein wanted to create something to compete with the Huffington Post.

No wonder why the Compost is in the toilet. I don't like Klein obviously, but it appears he has some vision and wanted to share that with the Compost.

Conservatives may hate the Huffington Post, but they have created a (liberal) news niche market and is dominating it.

“eight figures” for a new website. Little Marxist Klein is just another greedy leftist.

However, Klein’s leaving the WP is comparable to flushing only one turd from a crowded toilet bowl, down the drain.

Not enough toilet paper in the world to clean up that place.

The only thing keeping the Washington Post alive is the fact that stupid Republicans refuse to omit the budget item that pays for Washington Post subscriptions to the DC fascist bureaucrats.

Red line that budget item, and the Washington Post dies.

Duhhhh!

The guy wants a minimum of $10 million bucks to create a website? Looks like the 0bamacare boondoggle has raised a few bars in DC.

"Explanatory journalism" is, of course, propaganda. Klein has a long track record of propaganda and news manipulation through journ-o-list. This is nothing new. How, precisely, this sort of thing was expected to pay for itself is a bit of a mystery, which is, I suspect, one reason Bezos turned him down. Power is its own reward in Klein's little world; for the rest of us it doesn't pay the rent.

So another snot-nosed, wet behind the ears pajama boy “journolist” gets B-slapped by the Money People.

That’s a shame. Really.

Now come on over and change the clutch in my pickup, Ezra.

Never mind. Rachel Maddow’s gonna do it.

True. Not yet 30, this skull full of mush has yet to hold an actual job besides spewing liberal drivel. Come to think of it, with his resume, he could be president.
