Its a debate that will surely end with a Big Bang.
Bill Nye The Science Guy will square off with Ken Ham, the founder of the Kentucky Creation Museum, in a February discussion on the subject of teaching children evolution.
The spiritual showdown, which is unlikely to with either man relinquishing their firmly-held beliefs, will take place on Hams home turf of Petersburg, Ky. Having the opportunity to hold a cordial but spirited debate with such a well-known personality who is admired by so many young people will help bring the creation-evolution issue to the attention of many more people, including youngsters, Ham said in a statement.
. . . . . .
Bill Nye really doesn't understand science, Ham said in the video, without a shred of irony. Bill Nye also has an agenda to teach children not to believe in God.

I don’t get it either.
When did that happen?
Yeah, but when was the Evolutionist/Creationist debate that you’re talking about? The one the evolutionist won?
And anyway, are you sure about that ‘not descended’ thing? Because I’m seeing quite a family resemblance.
Where did the “primordial atom” come from? What existed BEFORE this atom? Where did this atom exist? What space did it occupy?
I agree that it’s possible for creationists to win in front of an audience of non-scientists. But then again, so do the lunar hoax and 9/11 Truth guys. They didn’t split the atom by asking the audience the best way to do it.
Call it God or call it Joe, whatever gets you going in the morning, but how we got from an infinite cause across a rather tall conceptual boundary to an anthropomorphized bearded guy with an hour glass and an obsessive interest in human moral behavior is beyond me. The moralizing God is more like my mom and dad and their cultural folkway memes than any all seeing, knowing, powerful trans-everything.
Since Bill Nye is full of crap, he could easily lose to a wet paper sack
I don't know, maybe you should read Lemaitre.
The whole concept of 'before' doesn't really apply when there's no time to speak of. Also 'atom' is a colloquialism for a singularity (THE singularity that predated the Big Bang), which doesn't occupy any space at all. It's a single point of infinite density.
These endless debates are silly. Unless the one you are debating believes that the Bible is God’s Word, there is no basis for a Christian to debate anything. And nobody believes in God unless the Holy Spirit has changed his heart. Faith is not based on “facts” or theories. Faith is a gift from God, and God commands us to share the truth about Christ. Period. God’s Word is effective, and to keep badgering people with evidence-based arguments about this or that is futile. If someone believes the world is millions of years old, no amount of argument will change that person’s mind. Ditto for those who believe in an 8 day creation. These camps are starting from a different base so these arguments are a waste of time.
A precambrian rabbit.
Where did the singularity come from? Where did this single point of infinite density come from? What is it’s origin?
So is your point that unanswered or unanswerable questions is evidence of creation, of God, of the fallibility of human scientists? Science e isn’t just knowing but it’s always asking, something many of my fellow Christians stop doing in the false belief that faith eliminates doubt or questions.
An “infinite cause”? An “anthropomorphized bearded guy with an.....obsessive interest” in human moral behavior?
That would be Santa Claus.
If you don’t want God in your life, or thoughts, it is your choice.
