Privately operated airboats, icons of the Gladesmen culture of the Everglades, will be dwindling in number because the Park Service isn’t granting any new licenses.

Good morning.

That battery was designed by my late father....

Cool. Have you been there?

Good morning.

...but it’s actually been going on there for decades.

Yep, for about 75 years.

BINGO-You win first prize.

A good number of Republican elected officials like government programs and high spending; maybe not the same programs as RATS but programs that entail massive government spending.

And an important part of the war was to attack various religious organizations and destroy their moral authority
among believers.

I always assumed they had aircraft engines. I’ve seen a couple of them up here and they had Chevy small-blocks.

I guess that ought to cover it.

Been there? Yeah, many many years ago, when my dad was still alive and before he got Alzheimer's disease which was before they even knew what that was.

So, I was a kid and I think the battery was still in use. He also designed a whole string of Radar stations all up and down the keys. You can recognize them because they look like a huge golf ball sitting on a tee ready to be struck. I don't know if all of them are still in use or not, but I suspect so and used by the DEA to spot drug runners. But that's only a guess.

My stepdad worked for Eastern for 34 years. It was a very sad event. One of those things you never forget. Nice to meet another Floridian. I live in SC now but grew up in South Florida.

My late dad was born in the Czar's Russia in 1907 and saw the Russian Revolution up close and personal being a distant relative to the royal family. He came over first class through Ellis Island (not steerage) and settled in Miami which back then was truly southern and called Miam-UH by the "locals." He graduated from the only high school in the county, Miami High in 1924. Then he went to M.I.T. and graduated top of his class there as well as captain of the Polo team. But my family we're O-L-D Miam-UH. Aside from dad being at Miami High we're a Coral Gables High dynasty with my two sisters, myself, my wife, her brother and our daughter all graduating from Gables. Where did you go to High School? What year did you graduate?

Eastern and Pan-Am were very sad periods in Miami History and I'm a history teacher. That was where I saw what the wrath of unions hath wrought. I watched the union bosses live high on the hog while the workers slowly starved. And I'm ashamed to say that I belong to the teacher's union here in Miami-Dade, but they have saved my conservative butt many times and they hated it every time but they did it very well from principals who violated the contract in trying to shut me up. Academic freedom in social studies helps me present all sides of every historical issue, not just the side the system would like me to tell (aka revisionist history)! Why did you move to South Carolina, if I might ask? We are contemplating a move to western North Carolina in the mountains when we retire in a few years, Lord willing.

Don't feel so bad. Even though peasants won't be able to use airboats, their government Masters will have all they want.

And in a win-win for the Masters, the peasants will have to pay for the airboats at gunpoint...

My stepdad had retired from Eastern before they went bankrupt. He had Alzheimer’s and never knew what happened to his beloved airline. I graduated from Hialeah High in 70. You guys beat us for the state champion in football. I’ll never forgive you for that.:) Coral Gables had a great football team, I remember that. I was born in Knoxville, TN but my dad died when I was five in a tractor accident on our farm. My mom had a brother who lived in Hialeah with his family so after my dad’s death, she moved us down there. I moved to Asheville, NC in 98. The city has gone totally liberal, even twice electing an avowed atheist to city council. I moved to Greer, SC (Greenville area) a little over three years ago and love it here. WNC is beautiful and conservative outside of Asheville, for the most part (transplants excluded).

Airboats are redneck modes of conveyance. So are snow mobiles.

Both of these modes of cpnveyance give maximum freedom and security to those who know how to disappear and conduct potential guerilla war from the outbacks of North America.

These red neck modes of conveyance therefore need to be terminated.

“The Everglades is going to be re-designated by the Fed.gov as: Area 52.”

Just poking fun. . .Area 51 is the airspace over Groom Lake, the spooky airbase.

Airspace over southern NV is sectioned off by the Air Force into numbered “areas.” You get assigned “area(s)” when you fly a training mission, weapons school flight, or fly in Red Flag (covering multiple areas).

Area 51 happens to be the airspace area number above Groom lake. . .where ET resides.

Cheers. . .

;-)

“Some of the Park Service rangers that try to enforce this will wind up as gator chow.”

I spent 17 years there, so I would have to agree with you completely on that one.

“I’m just curious but when an airliner crashes in the
middle of that 80,000 acres of swamp wilderness, how
do they propose to reach the crash site?”

They will reach the site with the “Team Overkill” experts (days later), headed by the white hut, and paid for with our tax dollars. However, all this, only to be informed that no one could be saved. Later, we will learn that only Obamao supporters were saved. Team overkill then celebrates what they will believe to be a “heroic effort”. All in attendance will receive a medal, a Nobel peace prize, and each, the title of Czar of the swamps.

Oh...and we will be EXPECTED to “go along”.

Truly ‘forward’ thinking. Just think what could happen if they outlaw the wheel. Imagine the thousands of lives saved from those terrible automobile accidents. /s
