CONNECTICUT GUN OWNERS WAIT IN LINE TO DO SOMETHING MANY GUN OWNERS HOPE THEY NEVER HAVE TO

Connecticut residents waited in long lines on Thursday to register their firearms and high-capacity magazines before the state’s new gun laws go into effect on Jan. 1, 2014.

WFSB-TV reports that a “long-line of people” stood outside the Public Safety Building in Middletown, Conn., all day to register semi-automatic rifles and high-capacity magazines. Several residents were upset with the “unconstitutional” requirement, while at least one person didn’t appear to mind.

“I understand why they’re doing it, but I don’t think it’s constitutional,” resident Scott Boccio told WFSB-TV as he was registering his guns.

Charles Gillette, who was registering magazines, told the news station that he would have a problem with it if the state was trying to ban the magazines or firearms, but said “if they want to just know where they are, that’s fine with me.”

However, not one gun owner who was registering firearms or magazines said they think the new laws will reduce gun violence.

“If people are going to do things illegally, they’re not going to be here registering their gun,” Jared Krajewski, another resident registering firearms, said.

For now, in Connecticut, the law is the law. The new gun control measures were put into place following the tragic school shooting in Newtown, Conn.

State police Lt. Paul Vance said that gun owners must fill our forms completely and some may require a notary.

I own no crew-fired weapons, aka guns. I do have several VPD’s. (Victim Prevention Device)

**Time to pack up and leave the stupid liberal state. Head South stupid yankee. On second thought, just stay right where you are, we don’t need any more liberal morons down here.**

Your post is offensive and ignorant on so many levels...it's difficult to know where to begin.

The *Y* in *stupid yankee* [sic] should be capitalized...e.g. stupid Yankee

I have to admit, when I saw all those people being marched out of their houses at gunpoint during the Boston Marathon bombing, I gave up on ever achieving a national remedy.

Why would anyone leave Connecticut? CT citizens are to get the long-awaited Newtown state police report [7K pages] today at 3 PM; it will take the rest of our natural lives to wade through the discrepancies in it. Someone has to stick around to do the dirty work. Meh.

But I look at where our country as a whole is, and people thirty years ago, even many who were Democrats, would have been appalled to see where it is today, and that thought doesn’t make me feel cheery about twenty years from now.

You're right. By today's standards, JFK was a Right Wingnut!

Wish there was a live cam of this public safety building. I predict *smoke* will be coming from the building, after everyone tries to access the Newtown report all together at 3 PM

Bet their servers crash from overload..

Yep, when I was a kid there were only two bumper stickers I remember seeing.

1. The only good Commie is a dead Commie.

2. First Registration, then Confiscation.

Exactly. Expect a knock (if your lucky) on the front door in the future.

Or maybe no knock at all...Just a bunch of shooting and blood...

A “peaceful” remedy. I agree.

I think the way back on that set of tracks was sealed off by the growth of the Free Sh*t Army.

“There’s no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws.”

I don’t own any guns but I live in Connecticut and the absolute stupidity of most Connecticut residents is astounding. The state drives away new business with onerous taxes and regulations, taxes it’s citizens up the wazoo and coddles ‘public service’ employees. Connecticut has a 140 million dollar budget deficit this year, a 7.6% unemployment rate (not counting those who have given up seeking work) and some of the highest taxes in the nation. Yet Connecticut residents continually elect left-wing Democrats and RINO governors. Today, we have a leftist Democrat governor (Dannel Malloy) who is killing us with taxes. He’ll likely be re-elected next year. With that kind of lemming-like behavior on the part of the electorate it is no surprise that Connecticut residents meekly line up to register their guns like good little sheep. The state is hopeless.

I was wondering, did the American Colonist register weapons before Lexington and Concord? How did the British know where the cache of weapons and gun powder were at?

Yup.

Or how about this. Some reporter would get the list of everyone who owns firearms and then post a map on their web page with those individuals names and addresses. That would include folks who are trying to remain hidden from disgruntled boyfriends, judges, etc.

Not registered. Ordered confiscated by the military governor so that the inhabitants of the rebellious city of Boston could not raise their hands in defiance to His Sovereign Majesty, George III, King of Great Britain, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
