Connecticut residents waited in long lines on Thursday to register their firearms and high-capacity magazines before the states new gun laws go into effect on Jan. 1, 2014.
WFSB-TV reports that a long-line of people stood outside the Public Safety Building in Middletown, Conn., all day to register semi-automatic rifles and high-capacity magazines. Several residents were upset with the unconstitutional requirement, while at least one person didnt appear to mind.
I understand why theyre doing it, but I dont think its constitutional, resident Scott Boccio told WFSB-TV as he was registering his guns.
Charles Gillette, who was registering magazines, told the news station that he would have a problem with it if the state was trying to ban the magazines or firearms, but said if they want to just know where they are, thats fine with me.
However, not one gun owner who was registering firearms or magazines said they think the new laws will reduce gun violence.
If people are going to do things illegally, theyre not going to be here registering their gun, Jared Krajewski, another resident registering firearms, said.
For now, in Connecticut, the law is the law. The new gun control measures were put into place following the tragic school shooting in Newtown, Conn.
State police Lt. Paul Vance said that gun owners must fill our forms completely and some may require a notary.
Don’t you just hate it when the sheep start to whine ?
This is a tragic display of those who no know history.
Note to Charles “The Sheep” Gillette: If “it’s fine” with you telling the government where your weapons, magazines and ammo are, what will you do when they come to get them? (Although it sounds like you will have already given them up voluntarily before that ever happens.)
Registration will not prevent one killing....not one.
Watch, very closely, what happens after the next “incident”.
Registration will not prevent a killing but it will be useful for confiscation during a martial law event.
Hey, if Adam Lanza’s mom would have been required to register that AR-15, then after the Sandy Hook shooting,, the cops would have known the serial number of the gun he used. Or something,,,,,
Stupid for law enforcement,,, only useful for confiscation.
Sure it will!
But it will save the ones as we say in the South "need killin'."
If you REALLY know the reason, then you wouldn't be registering them because the real reason is to eventually outlaw them and confiscate them.
But they would have been able to trace it back to his mom...oh wait...
But it makes everyone feel good. And that is important. /sarc
Exactly. Expect a knock (if your lucky) on the front door in the future.
It also allows them to enter your house without your permission because you have a weapon that the government has deemed illegal.
so are you saying when the confiscation begins we should just steal one anothers guns? Therefore there is no way to figure out where any of the guns are at?
I live in Maryland so that’s probably next on the agenda but if and when it does.. I’ll have lost or misplaced all my weapons.
How secure is your registry, CT? What an easy way for a gun accessing criminal to know where to find the guns of his choice.
Yeah, Scott, but there you are going right along with it.
IT HAS STARTED
One FOIA request from a newspaper willing to print all of the gun owners names and addresses will answer that for you.
I am so sure all the criminals are on line waiting to register their firearms.
They won’t have to come by and collect them because anyone willing to register their firearms will turn them in when the government demands it.
How many criminals were in line registering their illegal guns?
The stupid sheep queue up for their slaughter. “... The people’s right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. “.
And we all know how we are nation of laws, not of men. Plus, "it's settled law," so you can't challenge its Constitutionality.
The government come to collect them? Nah, it can’t happen here.
This is a very bad thing, and it will lead to much worse things. This is a good time to pray.
Let’s see. Mr. A, Mr. B, and Mr. C have registered guns. I think I’ll burgle Mr. D, Mr. E, and Mr. F tonight, instead.
Connecticut residents waited in long lines on Thursday to board the boxcars to the concentration camp.
“the cops would have known the serial number of the gun he used. Or something,,,,,”
Maybe the news reports would have been less confusing, able to focus on the correct BAD gun more quickly.
Don’t think this is restricted to the Northeast or will stay there because of a line on a map.
Every state, including stalwarts like Texas have liberal elements in them, and liberals are like rust.
They never sleep.
Connecticut residents need to vote early, often, and from the roof-tops.....
Whatever natural disaster God brings down on Connecticut, it can’t be too disasterous.
No good citizen American should line up to satisfy an unconstitutional mandate of a local, state or the federal government. Ignore it and stay home. Passive resistance, when done by many, is a tactic that gums up the government’s nasty plan and inspires other good citizens to join and support the resistance. If they call you in it, say, “I forgot” or “what difference does it make?” Words that have let Hillary skate past misdeeds.
Stupid is as stupid does.
Any fool who complies with that law deserves what is coming to them.
Us`n Adirondack hillbillies will be proud to fire the first 20 round magazine that will be heard round the world!
WE have had arms up here since 1644 and neither HELL nor HIGH WATER will take away our right to keep and bear arms!
From our dead Hands try to take our guns!!

Them`s fightin` words!!
The Cuomonistas want to start a shootin` war and that`s just what they`re goona get as my GGGGgranfather did to the British in 1775.
We got 40,000 weapons here in a town of 5,000 plus tens of millions of rounds. of ammo.
We don`t take no sht from no kissass dictators neither.
We drove the revenooers outta here in the 1920`s-30`s and they never canme back neither.
We have guns here for 350 years. You think we ain`t gonna fight back? HAHAHAHA
Watch the HEADLINES boys!
These Cuomunistas guys want to play with rattlesnakes, they gonna get bit real good!
Do you honestly believe there is a god who would kill people or unleash destruction over gun registration?
I’m not for gun registration. I’m just not quite sure how God got involved in this.
I've got to believe that in places like Texas, once a LEO enforces a law like this he can never go home.
All the criminals will have registered guns. Just not in their names.
Mine are in the lake.
One would hope that would be the case.
But I look at where our country as a whole is, and people thirty years ago, even many who were Democrats, would have been appalled to see where it is today, and that thought doesn’t make me feel cheery about twenty years from now.
Wow, after watching the video of this I was surprised those “men” weren’t in their onesies.
You nailed it.
I think we just need to keep hammering on the fact there’s only one reason to strip people of the means to defend themselves.
