CONNECTICUT GUN OWNERS WAIT IN LINE TO DO SOMETHING MANY GUN OWNERS HOPE THEY NEVER HAVE TO

Connecticut residents waited in long lines on Thursday to register their firearms and high-capacity magazines before the state’s new gun laws go into effect on Jan. 1, 2014.

WFSB-TV reports that a “long-line of people” stood outside the Public Safety Building in Middletown, Conn., all day to register semi-automatic rifles and high-capacity magazines. Several residents were upset with the “unconstitutional” requirement, while at least one person didn’t appear to mind.

“I understand why they’re doing it, but I don’t think it’s constitutional,” resident Scott Boccio told WFSB-TV as he was registering his guns.

Charles Gillette, who was registering magazines, told the news station that he would have a problem with it if the state was trying to ban the magazines or firearms, but said “if they want to just know where they are, that’s fine with me.”

However, not one gun owner who was registering firearms or magazines said they think the new laws will reduce gun violence.

“If people are going to do things illegally, they’re not going to be here registering their gun,” Jared Krajewski, another resident registering firearms, said.

For now, in Connecticut, the law is the law. The new gun control measures were put into place following the tragic school shooting in Newtown, Conn.

State police Lt. Paul Vance said that gun owners must fill our forms completely and some may require a notary.

It’s not just Newtown and gun laws.

CT has gone alarmingly stupid and ‘progressive’ since they seem to have stuffed the ballots (in Bridgeport, per usual) to vote the corrupt Democrat Dan Malloy as governor in 2010.

Since then he and the Dems have jacked up dozens of taxes, driven CT into the economic ditch as the only state with declining economic activity in 2012, and become crony capitalist central with all kinds of grants and ‘investments’ to keep companies in CT despite the horrid environment they have created.

I’m not for gun registration. I’m just not quite sure how God got involved in this.

Allow me to illuminate you:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights...

God gave us these rights, including the right to keep and bear arms for our defense, and that's how God got involved. Pass all the laws you want but any law that contradicts our God-given rights warrants our God-given wrath.

As Connecticut and indeed the rest of the nation settles into the abyss, we can hear the chorus, “It’s not our fault! This is only temporary! All we wanted was a chance!”

You enumerated a list of many of the burdens that have been imposed on people who want to freely exercise a right guaranteed in the Constitution with the phrase, “shall not be infringed.” I was merely pointing out the hypocrisy of the left when they insist on infringing on our 2A rights, but will cry a river over something as innocuous as voter ID.

I was on there at about 3:30...no fuss-no muss.

Downloaded a video which is 25 mins of a state police cruiser speeding to Sandy Hook. Really helpful.

I’ll poke around on the rest.

I suspect the overall is going to be quite sterile.

It will be interesting to find out how many Connecticut residents are outed by the Federal background check where they don’t keep records.
