A silvery green olive grove set in the red soil of a Palestinian village is a crime scene - testament to a practice so sensitive that it is spoken of only in whispers.
One night in late November, Rasha Abu Ara, a 32-year-old mother of five, was beaten to death and strung from a gnarled tree branch as a gruesome badge of "family honor" restored.
The woman's alleged sin was adultery, and her killer was either her own brother or husband
...
Her murder brought to 27 the number of women slain in similar circumstances in Palestinian-run areas this year, according to rights groups - more than twice last year's victims.

Either it is the Jew’s or Bush’s fault...
This problem, if it escalates indefinitely, could resolve itself?
No, the inbreeding will just get worse.
Savages need a savage solution. When a woman is killed in these circumstances, the male members of her immediate family need to suffer the same fate. An eye for an eye justice. Repeat as necessary.
The way honor killing can be mitigated, if not ended, in the western nations, is for once for the media to do something useful. It is something they do well, if they are motivated; but in this case could do something good.
This is to elevate, even idealize, the victims of honor killing, but more importantly, to sully and despise and even dehumanize the killers.
The killers must be portrayed as evil, and disgusting, uncivilized, profane, and anti-Islamic. Presented as inhuman monsters who hate goodness and justice, love, life, and righteousness. Devils.
It must be done in terms that other Muslims recognize as repugnant and offensive. That these are unclean people who are to be shunned, even hated. Eaters of filth and defilers of the dead. Nothing is too grotesque for them.
At the same time, their victim must be held up as a creature of purity, grace, and righteousness. That she is seen as beloved in heaven, without fault. She is everything they were not. They are unworthy to lick the bottoms of her shoes, or even to join her in prayer.
The contrast must be stark. She was a good Muslim, beloved of Allah; but they are pigs and dogs who are destined for Hell.
This propaganda must be directed at Muslims, both inside and outside of the country. And it must be done each and every time there is an honor killing, to convey the message that the *victim* was honorable. The killers have no honor, and are creatures of the sewer.
Or perhaps he just wanted shed of her
The Saudi still DO have head and/or hand choppings on Friday mornings. Those happen for people who just won't stop doing what they are doing. The thief had had NUMEROUS warnings from everyone in and out of his family. The adulterers had the SAME numerous warnings.
I THINK that Pakistan and Afghanistan are still practicing those barbarianisms. They have no one looking over their shoulders and keeping an eye on them. They have NOTHING of value for anyone on the planet so no one can hold anything over them.
The Saudis have Uncle Sam looking over their shoulders ALL THE TIME. It's a nice case of quid pro quo.
Maybe a worrisome trend, but no one feels bad enough to stop it.
We have no use for Muslims but Christians of all ethnicity should be welcomed.
Worrisome, but they’ll get over it in a few minutes...
Human sacrifice by any other name....
Honor killings = delayed birth control.
The men are emotionally emasculated from birth.
