Saudi Official Shakes Hands with Israelis in Rare Meeting
Arutz Sheva ^ | 17/12/13 | Elad Benari

A rare meeting took place on Sunday between a member of the Saudi royal family and Israeli officials, reports NRG/Maariv.

The meeting took place at the World Policy Conference in Monaco, where Prince Turki Al-Faisal, former head of the Saudi secret services and formerly his country’s ambassador to the United States, met MK Meir Sheetrit (Hatnua) and Itamar Rabinovich, formerly Israel’s ambassador to the U.S.

According to NRG/Maariv, the Saudi prince publicly shook hands with Rabinovich and held a discussion with MK Sheetrit.

The report said that Sheetrit invited the Saudi prince to address the Knesset, to which the prince replied that this would not be beneficial as long as Israel did not accept the Arab peace initiative. He called on Israel to accept the initiative so that details of its implementation can then be discussed.

.....

NRG/Maariv further reported that Prince Turki Al-Faisal lauded the efforts being made by Secretary of State John Kerry in promoting peace talks but, in a hint of criticism against the administration in Washington, said that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas need patronage from a responsible third party and expressed doubts that President Barack Obama could be that responsible party.

.....

On the Syrian issue the prince ridiculed President Obama who “set red lines which in time became pink lines which then completely blurred out.”

Everybody in the world sees that we have a pretender as POTUS except the US MSM.

You’ll begin to see new alliances now that Barry has sold our Middle East allies down the river with the nuclear deal.

......make no mistake, in the coming fight with Iran, the Saudi terrorists and sponsors of 911 that killed 3,000 of us, know full well that they have no warriors amongst their low DNA and interbred citizenry!

Therefore, they KNOW they NEED the Israeli’s who have demonstrated over and over that they have plenty of them!

There is no Arab Unity, those desert tribes never liked or trusted each other.
For a while their common hatred for Israel and USA tied them together, loosely, but when Iran becomes a real threat and USA can no longer be trusted by anyone, guess what?

Hell just froze, literally, and a Saudi shook hands with a Jew!

Two leftist greenies, even Israeli ones, buddying up to the Saudis doesn’t seem that odd to me.

I wonder as the Chinese become the big customer of mideast oil if they will impose order here in a way we didn’t.

Not that curious. They’re getting ready to rain on Iran’s parade. Probably looking for some skirmish in the sea of Japan, or the possible impending collapse of North Korea to provide cover.

True that.

That they should do so publicly is what’s curious. The Saudis do not sit easy on their thrones. The Wahhabists they educated with their petrol money hate them. Shaking hands with an Israeli official in public might be just the pretext they need to sproing some Arab spring at them. The fact that they are taking this risk means that they are more scared of Iran than of the Wahhabists. But what compels them to take this risk? Israel would be happy to just fly over the Arabian Peninsula on their way to Iran and have the Saudis angrily waving their fists in the air to save face while in fact giving a furtive go-ahead to the flyover. I don’t see the cause for a public handshake. I do see the cause for a private agreement.

Take away the referee (US) and both sides have to
learn to work things out together. The incompetent
POSPOTUS will be declared a foreign policy genius
by the POSMSM. What a world.

Dunno, it seems that they are saying they now hate Israel less than they hate Iran.
