Are we living in a HOLOGRAM? Physicists believe our universe just a projection of another cosmos

The universe is a hologram and everything you can see - including this article and the device you are reading it on - is a mere projection.
This is according to a controversial model proposed in 1997 by theoretical physicist Juan Maldacena.
Until now the bizarre theory had never been tested, but recent mathematical models suggest that the mind-boggling principle could be true.
Professor Maldacena's model suggests that the universe exists in nine dimensions of space and one of time.
Now Japanese researchers have attempted to tackle this problem by providing mathematical evidence that the holographic principle might be correct, according to a report in Nature.

Like something out of an Ayn Rand novel. Scientists who declare that nothing is real, therefore morality is fake too.

In my prison ministry band, I did a solo act as morpheus, talking to the prisoners. It began with “Let me tell you why you’re here.” and continues with his “red-pill, blue-pill” monologue, but segued to the Christian message. That is, Christians took the red pill and see this world for the very temporary thing that it is, while focusing on the real - eternity.
I believe it is highly likely that this theory is closer to reality than what most people believe about reality.

Indeed. I didn't see your post until after I posted my comment but the idea is eerily like Plato's shadow theatre.
You may be interested in a book I just finished called "The Self-Aware Universe" which goes on in depth w/ Plato's observation (and many other things of course).
Nice handle by the way.

"Professor Maldacena's model suggests that the universe exists in nine dimensions of space and one of time."NINE dimensions??? What a piker.
MY theory is that there are 172 dimensions of space, and Professor Maldacena's model is merely a holographic projection from MY universe.

Hit the projector.
They did on Red Dwarf.

I saw this movie......it was called The Matrix.... I prefer the original. All is the mind of God. I Am. So yes, if "holographic projection" is the terminology that makes you more comfortable, you guys go with it.

Correctamundo. Folks tie their non-belief systems into pretzels to avoid believing the Truth of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Hard to know whether to laugh or to cry.

The excellant book "The Elegant Universe" demonstrates using math how there are 11 dimensions that comprise space-time.
