Alexandria Lainez won't be able to carry her firearm around campus in her purse or book bag, but she can keep it in her car parked on campus, available for self-protection, or in case a madman decides to shoot up the University of North Florida.

I'm grateful for small steps, but does anybody else see the problems with this?

In case "a madman decides to shoot up" the place, she can go outside, open the car, and get the gun?

Better than nothing, but still suboptimal.

Does she have to lock the car?

If so, the "madman" scenario is made worse. If not, then everybody and their brother knows that Alex's car has a gun in the glovebox or something.

This is excellent news. The next step is for this to apply in every state. And the step after that is to lower or eliminate age restrictions to carry. My elder daughter is 19 and goes to Penn State. She’s not allowed to have a fire arm in her university affiliated housing. At age 19 she is not allow to legally carry in PA or any other state for that matter. My younger daughter is 16, so not an issue yet. But both should have uninfringed 2a rights.

No guns on campuses, more lies, there are ROTC programs with armories on campus for pistol/rifle teams, FTX’s etc.

Carry everywhere, get an attache case, bag, or gun case for vehicle with a lock and throw in the piece if pulled over by cops, Safe Passage Law.

Very nice win for her. Legal battles are never easy, much less fighting city hall like that.
