Federal officials say they've arrested a Kansas man who allegedly wanted to set off a suicide bomb at the Wichita airport.
Officials were to announce details of the case at a news conference at 2 p.m. ET in Wichita.
In advance of the news conference, an official familiar with the case told NBC News that the suspect was "an older white man," who became radicalized after reading extremist Islamic material on the web.

I posted the criminal complaint. He was coaxed and coached up to a point, then he took off on his own. He purchased several “bomb components” on his own, after FBI told him what to get, but he did the actual wiring of phony detonators himself.
He basically said, I need to do jihad, and someone was right there saying, I can help with that!
Wichita’s changed. There are a bevy of plausible, if not great, restaurants and a few areas that are fairly hopping until the bars and restaurants close 11-ish.

If unchecked they might *gasp* raise up their own sons to be straight and not end over obediently. Think that’s not the case? I had a spreadsheet once that listed all the “terrorist” arrests I could find, and most were the ones where the feds provided materials and support, then busted them. Few real plots uncovered.
