The cost of our broken borders has hit Texas hard. Illegals and cartel criminals have flooded across the border like never before, assaulting ranchers and overwhelming law enforcement. It got so bad, as immigration website Stand With Arizona reported, ranchers in the Rio Grande Valley stocked up on AK-47s to defend their property and lives from border violence. And the state deployed expensive gunboats to patrol the Rio Grande, as Border Patrol activities were cut back by the Obama Administration.
Fed up with the federal governments failure to stop the massive flow of illegal aliens, human trafficking and drug smuggling, Texas officials took matters into their own hands, bringing all of it to a screeching halt along the Rio Grande section of the U.S./Mexican border.
In the Rio Grande Valley sector, nearly nothing moved in those three weeks, Texas Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst told Breitbart News. We shut it down. We had teams of Texas law enforcement in the brush, high-altitude aircraft, gun boats and more. Our intel revealed that the Gulf cartel was growing frustrated with our three-week effort.
Dewhurst said that it all comes down to resolve and a willingness to spend the money necessary to get the job done.
The border issue is just about dollars and cents, the lieutenant governor said. This proves Texas can do the job the federal government has refused to do to invest in the border and shut it down from illegal activities that are hurting Texans and other Americans. Texas will protect our own citizens and other Americans from the criminal gangs that are destabilizing our state and our nation. The "dollars and cents" were substantial: Excerpt...click here to read the entire article...
A very small part for 3 weeks. Big Whoop.
Dewcrist would never do it for real.
Excellent.
Its a sham. If they were doing it for real the Globalists infesting Mordor-on-the-Potomac would send the US military in to keep the border open and protect the Third-world hordes from those evil, racist Texans.
Scary looking boat. Lot of fire power there.
Dewhurst is hoping that Texans forget all the bad things he said about Cruz in the Senate race.
you plug a hole here and it moves over there,,,
It Can be done,Texas Proved It!
most of the border is wide open though and the boat would be useless
Wonder what Dewhurst paid for this image puff piece? Rick Perry sold this action on the border and won it. Dewhurst was sitting around preening and grooming himself for the senate race coronation that of course, he lost.
Good for them... hope Florida's next...
Bastard barry took an oath.
But he practices taqiyya.
huh?
what??
what difference does it make,,
borders closed.
If los Tejanos were really pretending to secure the border the feds would have sued by now.
The federales believe that only they should be allowed to pretend to secure the border.
“nearly nothing moved in those three weeks,”
Big woop.
For crying out loud. 3 weeks?
True, but TX is really running "gunboats" on Lake Falcon.
It will become a flash point sometime, since the Feds, not Texas, is supposed to manage borders.
That was my reaction
Texas Department of Public Safety has deployed gunboats on the river, armed with major firepower. DPS now has 4 shallow-water vessels (soon to increase to 6), each armed with six M-240, 30-caliber automatic machine guns that fire 900 rounds per minute.
Each of the boats, equipped with armor-plating, night vision equipment and a small arsenal of weaponry, costs about $580,000.
Closed the border, hahahahahahahaha! That’s a real knee slapper. Please explain why the guy they sent out to work on the plumbing last week didn’t speak English.
determine the percent of the budget supposedly spent on border patrol...
determine what percentage of the US border belongs to texas...
determine the amount of federal tax revenue comes from texas...
do the math.
withhold that amount from the feds.
i encourage EVERY border state to do the same.
God bless Texas. More power to them.
