I never understood the idea that it was better for criminals to have better quality guns. If they prefered cheap, poorly made guns, wouldn't that be better for law abiding citizens?

Police say the two ran off in an unknown direction. Yeah. Maybe they ran straight up.

I certainly would like to know what make and model it was.
I used to have a Taurus Millenium PT-111 9mm I bought for my wife. The damned thing dropped the magazine every time the first shot was fired. I have never bought a weapon made by Taurus since then.

Brings an idea to mind. Buy a couple of cheap handguns and spike the barrel. Have one or two in the house and/or car and hope they get stolen.

Didn’t see any description of the firearm in question. Maybe it was an el-cheapo “Saturday night special”?

Sounds like my old Davis Model D-32. Hard times forced me to sell off the armory. When a bit of disposable income started coming in, all I could afford was a $90 Davis semi-auto in .32 cal. Chrome plated POS. Chamber and barrel were out of spec. Rounds were key holing. The thing fell apart the very first time I needed it during a home invasion robbery. Lesson learned: save up and buy a battle proven weapon. Anything less will get you killed.
