Shouldn’t this headline read, “Madonna icon shows faith, kisses Putin at Vatican?”
We do have a president who knows what he is doing but you may not like his intentions for the country.
Putin got a ceramic mosaic of the Vatican gardens, Pope Francis got an image of the icon of the Madonna of Vladimir, and all I got was a lousy Muslim Mack Daddy occupying my White House.
Glad he didn’t kiss a Miley icon.
Oh, that Madonna.
Supporting the unity of the Orthodox churches, and now with the Roman church, has got to be one of the most brilliant acts of statesmanship in the last hundred years. And it is risk-free and potentially high reward.
Putin may end up being canonized as a saint in the Russian Orthodox church.
I found out from a historian friend that the Russians have long wanted, going way back, for Moscow to be the new Constantinople. To explain, when the barbarians finally overran the western Roman Empire, with Rome as its capital; the eastern Roman Empire continued in Constantinople.
It continued there for a long time before finally being conquered by the Muslims in the 15th Century. From that point, Russia wanted to “keep the fire burning”, by becoming the new capital of Christianity.
So Putin is doing something Russians have long wanted.

I am horrified and ashamed at the Freeper lack of respect for the true mother of our Saviour. Don’t even bring up the blasphemers in this context. He who honors the mother (of Christ) honors the Son.
Take some time, maybe a year or two, read the book, “The Glories of Mary” by Saint Alphonsos Ligori, and get to know the deep and efficacious tradition of revering the mother of our Saviour if you are truly saved or wish to be!
For example, the Douay-Rheims translation of the Bible says in Genesis 3:15 that THE WOMAN will crush the head of the serpent. Hooray!
