Need to get the Oamacare programmers to make computer control for the train. They would never have an accident again.

yeah, that Positive Train Control investment looks pretty cheap now, don’t it?

Same train crash scenario happened a few months ago in France. Driver was at fault there, going far too fast..

I wonder if the driver was taking on a cell phone? Or impaired?

Because the whole point of the investigation is to determine whether anything can be done to prevent something similar from happening.

Question: why is that train going 82 mph is a 30 mph zone?! It’s almost like a slower version of that derailment at Santiago de Compostela in northwestern Spain back in July 2013.

Kettle, meet Pot.
Pot, meet Kettle.
NTSB, you’ve qualified for the Captain Obvious Award!

This reminds me of the Sheboygan Train Tragedy of 1984 when this train derailed going 8mph in a 3 mph curve. The driver apparently fell asleep, and leaned to one side, which along with the speed of the train helped tip it over, the driver, Willie Green, had a skinned hand and a young boy had a skinned knee, matching his other one he got in soccer practice.

Obviously a tragedy on a smaller scale but the same principle.... whatever that is
