The Other America: "Taxpayers Are The Fools... Working Is Stupid"
Tyler Durden

While what little remains of America's middle class is happy and eager to put in its 9-to-5 each-and-every day, an increasing number of Americans - those record 91.5 million who are no longer part of the labor force - are perfectly happy to benefit from the ever more generous hand outs of the welfare state. Prepare yourself before listening to this... calling on her self-admitted Obamaphone, Texas welfare recipient Lucy, 32, explains why "taxpayers are the fools"...
"...To all you workers out there preaching morality about those of us who live on welfare... can you really blame us? I get to sit around all day, visit my friends, smoke weed.. and we are still gonna get paid, on time every month..."
She intends to stay on welfare her entire life, if possible, just like her parents (and expects her kids to do the same). As we vociferously concluded previously, the tragedy of America's welfare state is that work is punished.

she should get her next meal when she goes to work and earns it. Hunger is a big motivator.

wasn’t there a poll showing 35% of Americans do not want a job?

As a client (ethnicity withheld) once told me at the state unemployment office: “Only mules and fools work, and I ain’t got no long ears, does I?”

It's time to thin the herd, folks. As in "you work, you eat. you don't work, you starve" either way their life will be the way they chose it.

Crap like this makes me want to go from buying American to boycotting American. I want to support the US economy, but I don’t want to support this. There doesn’t seem to be a right answer.

Pandering to the poor is a temporary ploy-once the transition to the leftist police state is achieved, everyone one will be expected to produce, under threat of force.

I don't want a job.... but I'm 54 and semi-retired. What I wish I could get is all of my money out of my investments (without paying taxes on everything). Also.... I wouldn't mind if they just extended Medicare to age 50 and above. In exchange... that way obammycare can generate cheaper premiums for all those young people. Oh.. and let obammycare cover their birth control. I'd be okay with that too...
That seems like a fair swap. I get my money out of investments tax free... and put on medicare. Obammy and his people get obammycare and lots of birth control. Its a win win.

That’s how it happens. The 20 something mom will have her little collection of Medicaid cards that she has to shuffle through to find the right kid.

...and what happens when the workers no longer work - the free corporate go elsewhere because taxes are raised to benefit the stupid and lazy - and those that can will move with them - leaving behind a degraded welfare state...what will the politicians do then...and the ones that depend on free handouts...liberals never think through to the ultimate conclusions...
Going “Galt” looks great right now!

Thanks to this Depression our economy is in my wife has lost her job and for the first time in our 40 years of life together one of us is not working. She is devastated and mortified to be on unemployment. To read about these people that are perfectly happy to sponge off the rest of us makes me sick. My wife spends hours and hours looking for work but at 59 is having a hard time finding any. She hates every second she is not working. Sorry the article made me angry I had to vent.
