Religious liberty is front and center on the nation's Thanksgiving table. On Tuesday, the Supreme Court agreed to hear Sebelius v. Hobby Lobby Stores Inc. The family-owned craft store company is intrepidly challenging the constitutionality of Obamacare's abortion coverage mandate. Hobby Lobby's faithful owners deserve our thanks and praise as they defend freedom of conscience for all Americans.
The privately held retail chain's story is the quintessential American Dream. Founder David Green started out making mini picture frames in his Oklahoma garage in 1970. He recruited his two sons, Mart and Steve, to pitch in at an early age. The family's first establishment took up a tiny 300 square feet of retail space. Hobby Lobby now runs nearly 600 stores across the country, employs 13,000 people and topped $2 billion in sales in 2009.
The Greens' Christian faith is at the heart of how they do business. They are dedicated to integrity and service for their customers and their employees. The debt-free company commits to "honoring the Lord in all we do by operating the company in a manner consistent with biblical principles," as well as "serving our employees and their families by establishing a work environment and company policies that build character, strengthen individuals and nurture families."
The company donates more than 10 percent of its income every year to charity. All stores are closed on Sundays to allow employees more family and worship time. It's the company's dedication to biblical principles that led Hobby Lobby in April to raise full-time employees' starting minimum wage to $14 an hour at a time when many other firms have been forced to slash both wages and benefits.

and Obama will make them shut it down
Well, clearly “You didn’t build that!” and also it’s homophobic, racist and a War On Women.
You’re right.
This outfit represents all that is bad in Baraq’s Amerikka.
No doubt that 0bama and his thugs will try to do just that. Never thought I’d live to see the day that we’d have an administration this anti-American.
I don’t know if I’d ever been in the one near me, but had a few extra minutes a couple days ago, and went in. Not a place I’ll spend a lot of time, but I did pick up a couple balsa wind-up prop airplanes for the nephews. Nice store overall, and the staff was very helpful on another thing I was looking for.
bump
Just fyi....
thank God for Hobby Lobby.
I can’t even get to the religious liberty question. They should have to say why one person should have to pay for the birth control of another before we have to say why he should not. I’m glad the case is proceeding, but that it has to shows just how much liberty has been lost. We are always saying why not, they never have to make the case for their intrusion in the first place. Never.
Bump!
If SCOTUS rules against Hobby Lobby, then we are at a major crossroads in our nation. I don’t think good people are going to “wait” for the Republicans to win in 2014. I do see, however, good people making preparations for what will surely make 1776 and 1861 look like a picnic.
Good vs. Evil. It’s here.
On SCOTUS’ docket.
Bring it on US Supremes
This is where Cruz could be helpful.
The one thing that Muslims pride themselves is the art of deception. Hiding truth is not forbidden if that truth benefits Islam. Zer0 has a secret identification with Muslims because of his unique background growing up in Jakarta and attending Besuki School, a Muslim school. Zer0 is making it impossible for Christians because he has a enmity against Christianity. However to further his Muslim identity, he hides his allegiance as part of the “al-Taqiyya.”
Yes it is...Sadly there’s no guarantee the executive branch will even act if SCOTUS rules for Americans due to the current POTUS and AG.
God in Heaven, please bring SCOTUS to the ruling YOU want for our country. Amen.
There is one about two blocks from me on one side of the street and a Michael's on the other side of the street and I go to Hobby Lobby.
I live maybe one hundred yards from that street and I call it the shopping street because every item and food known to mankind is on that street. You can live your whole shopping life on that street and only leave it to go to a doctor or hospital.
The length of shopping street is about one mile with all that on it. On one end is Walmart and Sams and on the other end is HEB grocery store and in the middle is Kroger. Name a commonly known fast food place and it's on that street - every major brand of hamburgers is on that street. Need hardware, there is a Lowes, want a pizza - every major brand is on that street. Need car tires? Two major brands on that street plus oil changes. Need gas? Numerous brands on that street. Drug store - Walgreens and CVS. You name it, it's on that street. Several beauty shops, great dentist. Two dog groomers, two vet clinics, jewelry stores and jewelry repair. I think that section of street should be in Ripleys Believe It or Not. I just gave a sample of what's there so there are many more stores in that one mile of street. Want a Subway sandwich, it's there. How about a chicken wings place, it's there. Chinese - two of them. Mexican food it's there. Bar? Two. Banks? Two. Dry cleaners it's there.
How much gas do I need for shopping? Very little. Why am I telling you this - I just wanted to tell you about this strange street that must have been put together by the god of shopping. :o)
