Cruz Pushes Repeal, McCain Eats Crow

All the talk about repealing and replacing Obamacare is now apparently going to be backed up with potentially substantive legislation that will be spearheaded by Texas Senator Ted Cruz (R) During an appearance on Fox News with Megyn Kelly, Cruz stated that he was going to release a plan to repeal Obamacare, and give Americans more healthcare coverage options.
Cruz, as well Senators Mike Lee and Marco Rubio, have been at the forefront of the Repeal Obamacare movement, for which they had been excoriated for doing so, by Senate moderate John McCain, and others.
Some say that the time is now for a formal repeal piece of legislation, but are they right? For repeal to work, the entire GOP needs to get behind it, including Poppa "Whacko Bird," the old crow, Senator John McCain.
It seems as if McCain has had a change of thought about repealing Obamacare. Perhaps McCain should apologize for his past remarks about Cruz and the others who have been beating the repeal drums?

Would the Democrats let a Senator get away with the sabotage, back-stabbing and treacher that McCain is exhibiting? They won't even let Senators vote against stuff.
What's my point? McCain belongs in an old age home, far away from any contact with the outside world. The only reason McConnell and others aren't doing something about the sabotage is they want Obamacare to succeed. What other conclusion makes any sense?

We need a list of suggestions.
Mine would be no waivers including the president, all of congress, all special interests. Also, no access by the gov’t to financial accounts.
What would you like to see gone?

No, McConnell and others who should be reining in McCain fear that they will have the POW card played on them, just like they fear the race card. You and I both know it would happen, any time any criticism of McCain was uttered.

This can't be done, ObamaCare is the Law of the Land.
So let it be written. So let it be done

My suggestion would be to cut funding for all the extras that are included in Obamacare, the affirmative action jobs plan, the educational grants to increase minorities in health care professions and the high school programs aimed at the same purpose. Oh, and the free translators at doctor visits. They can bring their own.
Then I would cut the funds for expanded Medicaid, not this year, but next year and end all exemptions and exceptions.
Finally, I would throw open the insurance market across state lines with no regulations regarding coverage.

Well, my husband is a medical doctor, so tort reform is number one.
Then, polices should be more like home owner insurance policies.
Buy what you want, across state lines.
Catastrophic or all the bells and whistles.
Finally, people need to get the notion of running to the doctor for every minor ailment out of their heads, “just because they have insurance with a low or no co-pay.”

I would like a medical savings account like a 401k. I save into it tax free. Also, anyone else can donate to it tax free, including churchs, charities, employers, and family members. This can take care of the most needy. The needy could even run a kickstarter like campaign if they need treatement. This keeps funding private and voluntary.
On the regulation side, allow interstate competition, advertising and posting of the prices of services which will bring in competition, and malpractice reform.

Rewrite EMTALA so that emergency rooms can turn people away who don’t have real emergencies and repeatedly show up there.

re: fearing the POW card if they stand up to McCain
I doubt anyone cares about McCain's POW status after his meetings with AlQuaida terrorists in Syria.

All we need is repeal of O-care, and restoration of Medical Savings Accounts.
Nobody needs “Health Insurance.”
Doctors should be paid directly by their patients.

Are you kidding, it will be the Democrat media who plays the POW card, hailing McCain as a war hero who people should support and honor. They will claim that it is down right unpatriotic to fail to support McCain and his military service.

We really need to return to the Public Health Service to treat the indigent and the uninsurables, or anyone else that doesn’t have a regular doctor. It would be run like a walk-in clinic with a triage system for treating emergencies. The public health hospital should be located near the private hospital to avoid people just showing up at the private hospital because it is closer.
