America's Unevenly Distributed Resurgence In Manufacturing Starts In The Shale Fields
Forbes ^ | November 4, 2013 | Mark P. Mills

Our economy is straining at the bit to grow out of the Great Recession. You wouldn’t know that from the dreary news on both the jobs and GDP growth front. The good news is found in the incredible potential for high-paying jobs, growth and wealth creation bubbling up in America’s manufacturing sector.

Manufacturing is hot, even though we’re supposed to be in a post-industrial economy. The transformation in American manufacturing today is redolent of a century ago when innovation and growth in the industrial landscape was blossoming in both big companies and start-ups.

On today’s start-up front we have emerging 3D printers – machines that ‘print’ parts and products direct from computer drawings — that promise to do for conventional manufacturing what PCs did for central computing. For investors, lucky ones at least, 3D printing is already changing some fortunes...

the Only bright bits are due to PRIVATE Property.

Obama is trying to kill us with Federal regulation
Even here in Texas they are chipping at private rights via the EPA.

You know, I didn't know that, but I did some research and while Keystone XL is presently blocked, essentially, you are correct, and many other pipelines are being built, or existing ones repurposed.

One of the more "enlightening" articles I found was on a website called "americablog" (yeah, right), with an article by a enviro-nutjob followed by comments by other enviro-nutjobs, all wailing about all the pipelines being built. One commenter in particular though was quite informative, as he's apparently a lib lawyer, and does know the pertinent laws, regulations, cases, etc., in and out.

http://americablog.com/2013/11/many-keystone-like-pipelines-enabled-army-corps.html

Never mind that pipelines are the safest, lowest impact way to move oil or gas. Of course the biggest argument with this group opposing pipelines is that of global warming and and that we'll all cook. One commenter near the end despairs at the inevitability of the tar sands resources being used (assuming all the Canadians don't go totally insane), which is reason for me to brighten up!

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a day fishing or hiking at some wonderful spot as much as any of the posters at that site. But I was SO tempted to register and ask a simple question: If human activities have such a big effect, what happens if you people get everything you want? Hint: Study the climate records for the last few million years.

BTW, this is just TOO darn funny: Presently running on that page I linked to is an ad by ConocoPhillips “See Steps of Drilling & Completion for Typical Shale Gas Development.”

One analysis that I saw suggests that the Keystone XL opposition is driven by Warren Buffet buying political influence, to keep all that oil freight being hauled over his railroad.

If someone is willing to pay to hold up another pipeline (Saudi? Russia? Buehler?), they will likely get right on it, otherwise, they have other opportunities for graft to pursue, power to seize and elections to rig. They are busy people. They also get a cut on all the taxes generated by the oil industry, so there is some incentive to let it flow.

Yes, they are trying to erode the entire concept of “private property” so everyone can share in winning “life’s lottery.”

Great article! Thanks for posting. The timing would be great for a Republican president—and Congress and Senate. Maybe we could flush the residue of Communism from the US forever. Obama may have a positive roll to play yet—being the face of liberlaism’s ultimate hisorical failure.
