Isn’t the “First Wookie” trying to get everyone to grow veggies?
Around here (Victoria and Vancouver BC) front-yard gardens are actively encouraged by city councils — and that includes vegetable gardens. There are even some small “share-cropping” business that will plant and tend front-yard gardens, in return for a share of the harvest. Most front-yard gardens are far more attractive than grass lawns.
Exactly why I would never buy a house where I have to deal with a HOA.
No, they say things like that but lefties do not want people to grow their own veggies, because they haven’t figured a way to tax them and force them to redistribute their plunder
“Between the Home Owner Associations and these village governments its a nut house to live in if you want to vary at all from the cookie-cutter lifestyle they want you to live.”
It’s also that too many American’s have accepted living under these Nazi conditions that they’ve grown to tolerate. Now when all govt’s do it, most people accept that too.
You only think you own property. Actually, the government allows you to use it while you pay taxes on it. It’s not your property, because you can’t do what you want with it.
Every year, the government confiscates a piece and hopes you don’t realize it, because it calls the confiscation a “property tax.”
I’m really beginning to be sorry that I am an American.
The State of Florida is not unique. There is not a state in the Union where this cannot happen. As C.S. Lewis put it in That Hideous Strength: “the poison has spat itself everywhere by now.”
We have a right to farm bylaw in my town and I’m very thankful for it.
This is nuts. Glad we don’t live in an area that has a bunch of regulations. We don’t live inside the city limits, but even if we did, lots of people have gardens-not usually the front yard, but sometimes in a side yard.
There was one guy that even had a minature golf course built in is front yard. No one said a thing.
