Assuming a farm bill is passed by the end of the year, the next legislative priority for the dairy industry will be immigration reform.
A top official at the National Milk Producers Federation is optimistic that reform will occur.
I believe that by 2014 we are going to have comprehensive immigration reform, says Jamie Castaneda, senior vice president of strategic initiatives and trade policy at NMPF.
When theyre going to do it, I cant tell you whether it will be the first six months (of 2014) or a lame-duck session after the November congressional elections, Castaneda said.

No!
America needs American jobs back.
First.
Now.
The DemocRATS are bound and determined to pass amnesty to build their voter base. If there is a “bright side” it’s that amnesty will be the final nail in the coffin of ObamaCrap.
From the gang that couldn’t shoot straight in healthcare insurance?
Somehow, I feel the great weight of unintended consequences.
I have been posting this about the net. It is my take on the issue. the laws are not being enforced. If they pass ‘get tough’ laws, who is to say they will be enforced...
“
Immigration reform is about greed.
Immigration reform is about money.
Immigration reform is about supply and demand.
Increase the supply of labor and demand falls, wages fall, your wages fall.
Ask yourself why the government CHOOSES to not enforce immigration law?
The political donor class and the employer class hold the reins of the government through how the political parties are funded. These are the people who are demanding the government ignore parts of immigration law.
Why?
Greed, plain and simple.
Increase the labor supply and the amount you have to pay people goes down, and you no longer need to treat them very well, because there are MILLIONS of hungry fearful people who will put up with it because the supply of jobs shrinks relative the number of people looking for work.
Thats a ‘win win’ for the employer class and the political donor class.
Once again the middle class is being squeezed for the benefit of the few, follow the money.
Any politician who pushes immigration reform without demanding the laws on the books be enforced is an enemy of your future, an enemy of your childs future.
Those politicians are doing the work of the employer class and the political donor class, society and culture be damned.
Dare to speak against them and you will be labeled ‘racist’ by the media, a media controlled by the employer class and the political donor class.
The government no longer is about public service, it is about the money.
When the government is free to select which laws to enforce, with the blessing of the courts your freedom vanishes.
And there is no one to vote for who could/would fix it, from either party.
We are so screwed.”
I agree. It’s only about money. Money, money, money. Anyone who is dumb enough to actually believe that the illegals want “citizenship” needs to cut back on the recreational drugs before they kill them.
The bad news is it’s the final nail, period.
Rand Pauls immigration speech[but hes not in favor of amnesty, snicker, definition of is is]

...The Republican Party must embrace more legal immigration.
Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.
Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.
Lets start that conversation by acknowledging we arent going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.
If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you...
This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society.
Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors.
And the GOPe is just as determined to help them make it so. Their last chance will be lame duck session 2014. I believe that enough TEA party types will be elected into office that the amnesty traitors won’t have a chance to pass any immigration bill beside enforce the laws, close the borders and build a fence after 2014. Knowing this, there will be strong incentive for the amnesty lovers to get their work done before the new Congress takes over in 2015.
I would like to know what shadows. Was the rally on the Mall during shutdown held in the shadows?
Gov’t by decree means never having to worry about funding.
This has been the most likely way to get there.
It is what they did in 2010 with the Dream Act attempt. Nelson, Hagan, Pryor, Hatch, Graham, McCain and Collins helped kill it in the senate.
Paul is being heartless towards the workers of Kentucky.
Why it's a Lame Duck Dynasty.
The House needs to carve out the Farm Bill from the EBT portion of it.
I guess we are just going to hav to raise taxes on Americas dairy producers to. Since they are going to help Obama create a socialist America it would only be just.
“Looks like a Lame Duck session amnesty vote after the Nov. elections is the new GOP-e game plan.”
I’m afraid you may be right, jimbo. We can probably exert enough pressure on them as the election draws nearer to keep them from rewarding Big Business with a Comprehensive Undocumented Dimocrats Act before the election. But after that, all bets are off because the ones retiring or who were defeated won’t care what anyone thinks and the ones elected or reelected will figure that everyone will forget before the next election.
The lame duck period is the worst danger zone for freedom lovers.
Yep. The Republic will be finished.
The Republican Party should be finished if they do this.
