I thought it might be a guy I know with the same name. Doubtful he would have voted for Obama though.

I am not sure how I would react given the same news, but I suspect that I might be paraphrasing James Cagney’s line as he addressed Humphrey Bogart in The Roaring Twenties, “You always said you were gonna take real good care of me, didn’t you, Barry. Here’s one rap you ain’t gonna beat!”
The most precious thing you have is your life and Obama is callously taking people’s ability to have/continue treatment that gives them life with his callous politics. The billion (to date) they’ve wasted on Obamacare ..... could have bought a lot of insurance for legitimate uninsured/underinsured who are in dire straits and need help. The millions/billions they waste on all sorts of government crap, fraud, waste, abuse .... they could again, use it to help folks with legitimate hardship.
People don’t have to die over this. There are options. Christian healthcare co-ops can handle some rather heavy medical expenses. There’s also crowd-funding. Creative alternatives exist. People need to get out of the box of insurance-think and get back to root causes. I don’t have the link handy, but the whole health insurance industry was started to stave off the early appeal of Marxism. The whole process needs to be reengineered in terms of the real objective, which is being free to pursue your own health, on your own terms, limited not by bureaucrats, but by reality as God has made it. This flailing about like we are victims of Obama and the left is repugnant to the spirit of liberty. Be free. Act free. Think free.

I heard him say that, too. He was talking about lowering the cost of healthcare, saying doctors sometimes give treatments that aren’t required and his panel of experts would decide which treatments are best and grandma might need a pill instead of surgery. That is the context I remember and I also remember thinking he is going to kill us older people.

No. The Jones vs Clinton case solidified the fact that Presidents can be sued while serving as President for things done prior to election, but not things done after assuming the presidency. And under no uncertain terms, a President cannot be charged with any criminal proceedings until after successful impeachment, and then the charges are levied against them and a new traditional trial takes place.
Like it or not, the President as most elected executives have some form of Blanket Immunity while carrying out their office. Much like Congressmen and Senators cannot be charged, sued, or otherwise impeded by any other branch of the Federal Government while on the floor of their respective bodies.
If it wasn’t so, suing and charging political leaders would be a common occurrence and would quickly become another political tool.

You can work while on SSDI. SSDI loves this as you pay SS and Medicare tax while working, but you want to be just shy of successful or extremely successful. Land in the middle and they may cancel your SSDI.
