Families want justice for suspects killed after robbery of Krick's Korner store in Reading (PA)

Family members of the two masked men shot to death after allegedly robbing a store in Reading spoke out Tuesday.

"It's not fair," said Virginia Medina, mother of 24-year-old William Medina, who police said robbed Krick's Korner store alongside 18-year-old Robert De Carr on Monday.

The two men were shot and killed by a private citizen while leaving the store, and family members want to see charges pressed.

"[William] had no right to lose his life over something that man could have called the police for," said Medina. "He took the law into his own hands and walked away scot-free."

"How about if people just start running around here, policing the city on their own? How much worse is it going to get?" said Peter Ratel, Medina's cousin.

The family members said they are hurt by comments suggesting the alleged robbers were "thugs."

According to Medina, William was "no big hard criminal" and was rather a family-man who loved his young daughter.

Robert De Carr was described similarly by his sister, Taylor De Carr. "My brother was a good kid," she told 69 News.

Some humor this morning to lighten the mood...

The original story:

Shots fired at corner store in Reading; 2 people dead Men shot had just robbed store of lottery tickets, cigarettes, police say

Two men, both armed with guns and wearing masks, had just left the store with stolen cigarettes and lottery tickets when they were confronted by the "concerned citizen," telling both suspects that he was going to call police and advising them to stay where they were, said Berks County District Attorney John Adams. A brief scuffle ensued, during which the suspects pulled out their guns, Adams said. The citizen then pulled out his gun, for which he had a license to carry, and shot both suspects, said Adams, who personally reviewed surveillance video of the scene.

He just robbed a store with a stolen gun, and then pointed that gun at another citizen. Yeah, what a great guy!/s

More then a thug. A thug punk, wearing his goofy Bulls hat and the proud owner of an Apple iphone. Must’ve paid for that with a previous robbery.

Looks like they took guns to a gunfight and lost. Justice served.

William had no right to steal something he could have bought.
He had no right to threaten others with a gun while committing a crime.
A store owner has the right to defend himself with deadly force if necessary.

Case Closed.

Armed robbery has always carried the occupational hazard of getting your ass blown away. It is gratifying that this is still true!!!

I can’t fathom the mindset of these incompetent fools. Would they be ok, if someone broke into their home and stole their stuff? Plain and simple, if the perpetrators were such model citizens, they would not have robbed the store. They got what they deserved.

So according to these sharptons the man in the mask with the gun barrel pointed at your head has more rights to his life than you do.

I disagree.

What they don't want to tell you is that Reading is full to the brim with illegals from the Dominican Republic pretending to be from Puerto Rico. They also, of course, are all on welfare. The nations of the world are basically sending all the poverty and crime to the USA.

Let me answer that for you Pete. As a CCW holder living in a little town just outside Reading, it's going to get a LOT better with armed law-abiding citizens taking out the trash that the cops aren't able to do because they are taking out the trash somewhere else.

Well give the dead loser a frickin' medal for loving his daughter. Holy crap, and we set the bar any lower?

There is only one reason why SHARPTON and JACKSON are NOT on the scene - the “perps” ARE NOT black. Otherwise, we would be seeing those two buffoons in Reading, PA organizing a march, “NO JUSTICE, NO PEACE{.

If the cops had shot the armed masked robbers they would be immediately condemned by a certain group of posters here.
