Democrats are trying nearly everything they can to stop the American public from completely bailing on Obamacare thanks to the massive train wreck of a roll out we've seen over the past month. Yesterday on ABC's This Week, former DNC Chairman and Democratic Presidential Candidate Howard Dean tried to argue that young people aren't needed for Obamacare to succeed, which is completely false. Dean also argued the roll out of the Obamacare website hasn't been chaos (the good parts are between minutes 1 and 8).
It is not true that if young people dont sign up that the program doesnt work, Dean said.
Despite Dean's fantasy of Obamacare working without a large number of healthy young people in the system to help pay for older sicker people, the fact is without this demographic, Obamacare collapses on itself. Even the White House has admitted this, hence the reason Health and Human Services Secretary has been targeting young people through ad campaigns, the NFL, "brosurance" and The Daily Show.
Before Obamacare became law, millenials weren't making heathcare insurance a priority in their budgets for two reasons: 1) They can't afford it 2) They don't need it. Now that Obamacare is law, millenials aren't rushing to sign up because 1) They still can't afford it, especially now that it's even more expensive than before 2) They still don't need it or see it as a priority and 3) As S.E. Cupp pointed out on This Week, they aren't going to sit on a website for hours or call a 1-800 number for coverage that is more expensive and difficult to sign up for.
Obamacare relies on Millennials, these young invincibles, who have never bought health insurance in the past, to suddenly change their behavior and buy something they dont think they need, Cupp said. But culturally, it reads as an inability to read their language Millennials dont meet in person with insurance brokers or travel agents, or anyone Theyre not going to be patient as the administration tweaks all of these glitches.
Democrats can’t even coordinate their lies.
Well, here you go....
Howard Dean made no sense and outright lied on the talkies yesterday —
Howard Dean is as crazy as shit-house-rat McCain still trying to remain politically relevant in today’s Obama’s World of Tyranny.
He’s due about as much credence as the fart I just squeezed out.
Obama The American people will make the insurance companies whole. Then the insurance companies will not be allowed to raise their rates to reflect the old/sick pool next year.
Most won't notice, or will accept it just like they do the huge amount that other government withholdings from their pay. If you never have it, it's not there, right?
Those who do notice it will blame it on the Republican who is president when the big "fine" increases hit.
Also the law only allows the exchange (income based) subsities for state run exchanges, meaning that in all those states who didn’t form exchanges the lower income residents are in the same boat as we are.
He’s right. The National Socialists can just keep jacking up the premiums on everybody else and there’s nothing they can do about it. Welcome tote New Reich
“Howard Dean made no sense and outright lied on the talkies yesterday ”
Liberalism is about magical thinking. It’s possible that he didn’t lie. It’s possible that he believed everything he said. This is what made Clinton so powerful. He believed every lie he said.
Hey, Howard, Democrats don’t need oxygen to breathe either. Try it.
You can build a house without a foundation... it just won't last for long.
Maybe he means that the are all poor and will go directly to Medicaid? Still, who makes up the difference if they aren’t in the pool?
Anyone tell Dean where to go yet?
When is someone going to tell the facts about the so-called “FINES”. The only mechanism the IRS has under the ACA to collect the “Fines” is to deduct it from a taxpayers tax refunds. They CANNOT garnish wages or attach bank accounts or collect the money in any way other than a deduction from a refund. If a taxpayer manages his or her witholding in a way that precludes a refund, he/she will not have to pay the “Fine”. Only Congress can change this by legislatioon and as long as we have a Republican House, that isn’t going to happen. When is the “Media” going to start talking about this?
Yep, we’ll just create more money out of thin air and pay for it!
There is some truth to that. Because much of our population has given up on critical thinking and logical conclusions, we have become (as a citizenry) too stupid to govern ourselves. I can't say precisely how or when the transformation was complete. But it's safe to say, it been happening for many decades and passed from American generation to generation.
Mrs. Tenacious made a statement last week that precisely exemplifies how effective the media can be for the average citizen. She is an ex-media pro. Following the media was her job at one point (Public Relations). I won't say what she said, but it was so misguided as to be embarrassing for this FReeper (regarding the gvmnt shutdown & Obamacare). She is a very bright woman, very "republican" and my perfect mate.
The point is, the more robust and complicated government becomes, the harder it is for anyone but the most attentive and intellectual to follow. The dems and media are great at simplifying issues into misleading or completely bogus slogans while conservatives pick apart the facts and tie logical thoughts and ideas together. And this is our downfall. The real righteous effort, for the good of all Americans, comes from conservatives. It is faith in the individual to become something greater than he/she is by their own effort and intelligence. I am slowly losing confidence in the potential of our citizenry to actually do for themselves. This is the real tragedy we face today.
You and me and under the aw, there’s not a damned thing we can do about it. The National Socialists can raise your premiums at will and no state insurance commissioner will be any help.
