Matt Bevin’s Senate Conservatives Fund fundraising webpage.
($127.2K raised so far. Goal is $200K.)
Received this email from the SCF this morning:

SCF endorses Matt Bevin for U.S. Senate in Kentucky.
SCF Senate Update

Fellow Conservatives:

U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY), the Republican Leader, has a liberal record and he refuses to fight for our principles.

It’s time to replace him with a true conservative.

We have done everything possible to encourage him to stand up for our values, but he won’t listen.

Mitch McConnell has cut deals with the Democrats to increase the debt limit, raise taxes, and fund Obamacare. He has also supported earmarks, bailouts, and amnesty for illegal immigrants.

After nearly 30 years in Washington, it’s time for a change.

MATT BEVIN FOR U.S. SENATE

We recently asked for your feedback on the Kentucky Senate race and the results were overwhelming. Over 90% of you said we should support Louisville businessman Matt Bevin (R-KY) over Mitch McConnell in the Republican primary.

We heard you and we’re now supporting Matt Bevin.

Matt Bevin is a constitutional conservative who will fight to stop the massive spending, bailouts, and debt that are destroying our country. He isn’t afraid to stand up to the Washington establishment and he will do what it takes to stop Obamacare, cut spending, and get the government off our backs.

TAKE ACTION: Support Matt Bevin for U.S. Senate

Matt Bevin supports our conservative policy goals. He is pro-life, pro-marriage, and pro-2nd Amendment. He opposes earmarks, bailouts, and amnesty, and he believes the IRS should be abolished and replaced with a simple system that encourages savings and growth.

We have interviewed a lot of candidates this year and Matt Bevin is one of the very best. He’s principled, passionate, and has Ted Cruz-like courage.

And Matt Bevin isn’t just the most principled candidate in this race; he’s also the most electable. Mitch McConnell is unpopular with independent voters and is already polling behind the Democratic candidate. If McConnell is the Republican nominee, he could cost the party the seat and even the majority.

TAKE ACTION TODAY

Please make a contribution to Matt Bevin’s campaign today.

Defeating Mitch McConnell won’t be easy. He has the full support of the Washington establishment and he will do anything to hold on to power.

But we have strength in our numbers and we can help Matt Bevin get his message out if we work together.

When you donate to Matt Bevin’s campaign through SCF, he will receive 100% of your contribution. SCF pays all processing and handling fees.

We need to give him an early boost and send a message to the DC establishment that Americans won’t tolerate leaders who refuse to listen.

Please answer the call today and help us show early strength is this race.

Best regards,

Matt Hoskins
Executive Director
Senate Conservatives Fund

I have donated to SCF in the past and will again.

Some advice: Don’t spend too much pointing out how terrible Mitch is. The man’s approval numbers show that people in Kentucky know that already.
Spend money on ads that highlight Bevin’s accomplishments, and answer the attacks from mud-slinging Mitch. And get Bevin’s name ID up in the rural areas so they know the alternative to Kickback Porker McConnell.

Where have you seen that Kentucky already knows how bad Mitch is? Any good links?

He’s unpopular all around. His popularity among Republicans is over 50%, at 59%, but if Bevin’s name ID grows, voters will switch to him.

CruzPAC also sent out emails today asking for contributions in support of Bevin. I think this is a real hoot because when Cruz was asked if he was going to support Cornyn’s re-election Cruz responded that he wasn’t going to get involved in any primary races.

Good news from SCF

Supporting Mitch McConnell is supporting ObamaCare. Any group or politician that supports McConnell is supporting ObamaCare...that includes you too....Marco La Raza Rubio

Bevin will need to highlight McConnell negatives to win.

This “no negative campaigning” is a sure loser....you do not win elections by being nice. The opponent is never nice to you.

You think McConnell will play clean? With the Anti American Collective of Communists funding him?

McConnell already is playing dirty.

My point is, the biggest negative for Matt Bevin is that he lags behind Mitch by a mile in name ID. People don’t know who he is, and have only heard the negatives Mitch has slung his way.

I’m not saying don’t run negative ads, I’m just saying that Mitch is already viewed negatively by most in Kentucky, and Bevin has to answer the charges lobbed against him involving bailouts etc.

They need to stress the fact that Bevin is electable in the general election, like Paul was.

I still think you will find that KY voters don’t pull surprises too often. They are strictly status-quo, but they may have thought Rand Paul was out of the ordinary. Now Rand is with McC. People in KY won’t vote for anyone whose name is not well known.
