Egypts Foreign Minister said on Thursday that his country will find other sources of funding after the U.S. announced it would suspend its military support to Egypt.
At the same, Foreign Minister Nabil Fahmy warned in an interview with CNN that the U.S. would hurting itself if cut off aid to Egypt.

Hurting ourselves is nothing new. We’ve been doing it for five years or so.
If, if we had a President that knew what he was doing, a president with a set, a president that wasn’t a self centered child ... these challenges wouldn’t be happening.
We’re talking about an extremely poor country that cannot even feed it own population without tons of foreign aid.
All Egypt has are threats to destabilize the region.
They have nothing else to bargain with. Zip, nada, nothing.
There it is. Pay us the Dhimmitax or we’ll cozy up to the Russians and Chinese, and instead of just secretly supporting corrupt Islamic form of government, we’ll do it right out in the open.
Sounds like the Nasser game redux. They might go to people like Iran, Russia, or China.
At this point they have the truth to bargain with.
We fight Islamists in Afghanistan, but support them in Syria and Egypt.
I guarantee you nobody talked this crap to Reagan. And he was working with Carters military....
To put it in perspective Gorbachov wouldn’t have dared

Sen. Rand Paul is hammering his fellow senators for keeping billions in financial aid flowing to Egypt’s military — even as Cairo’s security forces massacre anti-government activists.
[by “anti-government activists” is meant church-burning jihadists]
Here's the passage at issue:In the 1980s, the war caucus in Congress armed bin Laden and the mujaheddin in their fight with the Soviet Union. In fact, it was the official position of the State Department to support radical jihad against the Soviets. We all know how well that worked out.Let's leave aside for now the insulting, utterly asinine, sickening, inexcusable use of the phrase "war caucus" to describe those (including Reagan!) who supported the mujaheddin against the Soviets. That word choice alone is almost entirely disqualifying for its purveyor to ever be president.
Instead, let's just look at a little history here -- because the ignorance evident in this paragraph is truly astonishing. One would be hard pressed to find even a single historian, whether right, left, or center, who would argue anything other than that the Soviet failure in Afghanistan was not just a huge factor, but probably an essential one, in the Soviets' ultimate loss of the Cold War. Thanks Olog-hai.
Seems to me, Congress can fund them. FBHO.
I hope Bob Bradley gets the Hell out of there, especially after how Ghana drilled them the other day.
Excellent point. Remember the time frame....
Obama placed Morsi on the throne.
Morsi ruled with an iron fist and had people murdered that didnt toe the Muslin Bros line.
He brought in terrorist.
The people of Egypt took to the streets and then the military joined the “people”.
After obama’s pals were thrown out aid cut offs started.
With the urging and compliance of McCain, Graham, Burr and others.
I hope they have a public hanging for Morsi and his goons!
