My e-mail to my (RINO) Congressman...

Posted on 10/17/2013 7:27:37 AM PDT by DestroyLiberalism

I've fired off the following e-mail to my Congressman, Mike Kelly, of Pennsylvania regarding my intense displeasure with his vote to completely surrender to the Dems last night. Just thought I'd share it... Hopefully other FReepers will do the same for their RINO representatives who capitulated.

*********************************************************

Dear Congressman:

As a constituent who donated and voted for you in the 2012 election and wholeheartedly supported your previous efforts to vote to defund Obamacare, I regret to inform you that I am highly upset and disappointed with your decision last night to join the congressional Republican establishment in its complete and total capitulation to Obama, Reid, and the Democrats in the C.R./debt ceiling fight. Debt ceiling or not, the federal government is already bound by the Fourteenth Amendment to not question the payment of our public debt, so any fears of "default" really aren't valid as far as I'm concerned.

But Congressman, the desire of the majority of Americans to not be subjected and shackled to the oppressive tyranny of Obamacare IS a stark reality and all measures should've been vigorously and proactively taken by you and the entire GOP to ensure its delay and dismantling. And as a member of the House of Representitives, you are bound by the U.S. Constitution to responsibly manage the nation's purse strings and not allow the Treasury to fund any law that brings great financial and personal harm to the American people, such as the case with Obamacare. After all, the implementation of Obamacare will financially cripple millions of American families, allow unprecendented federal government intrusion into our lives and our personal health care decisions, destroy jobs and cut back labor hours, create severe doctor shortages and health care rationing, and add trillions more dollars of crushing debt that will almost certainly bankrupt our already fragile economy.

Unfortunately, Congressman, you quite simply failed in your duty yesterday. As your colleague Senator Ted Cruz has eloquently pointed out, a vote to not repeal or defund Obamacare is tantamount to a vote IN FAVOR of Obamacare. Furthermore, I had once thought of you as a conservative member of the House, though Heritage Foundation's Action Scorecard seems to indicate otherwise as evidence of your current dismal 59% rating you've received from them regarding your legislative voting record as a conservative. Giving rousing speeches on the House floor is no longer going to be enough, Congressman. I will be watching closely to see how you vote in the comprehensive immigration reform/amnesty battle about to be foisted upon the House and the American people. I will also be closely monitoring how you vote in January when the next budget/debt ceiling battle reignites. Should you betray your conservative base once again in either of these areas which are extremely critical to our nation's future, Congressman, I'm afraid I will be left with no choice but to support a more conservative candidate in your next primary election bid in 2014. I quite frankly have never been more upset with the GOP as I am now with its unwillingness to provide any substantive opposition to the imperialism and aggregious big government statism of Obama, Reid, and the Democrats.

*********************************************************

For the record, I will be sending PA Senator Pat Toomey a thank you e-mail for being one of the 18 Constitutional Patriots to deliver a NAY vote on the Senate floor yesterday.

The only reason the Dems held tough and didn't negotiate was they knew the Repubs were going to roll over. It was a done deal from the start.

At least Cruz & Lee helped pinpoint those who need to go.

it's finally clear to me that the majority of the Republican party no longer represents it's constituents. This proves that we have no firewall against the advancing tyranny. Time for Texas to secede

Republican party is no longer relevant to anything. They stand for nothing and offer no opposition to the Obama agenda short of cheap talk.

GREAT letter. Will be using this as a template for my letter to the disgrace known as Johnny Isaakson in GA.

And that's why Obama was re-elected and the Democrats control the Senate, right?

Obama and the Senate Democrats weren’t re-elected because of Obamacare... How can you possibly make that connection when practically *every* single poll today and over the past four years show far more people disapproving of the law than approving? In fact, Obama avoided bring Obamacare up like the plague during his 2012 campaign and Romney barely paid lip service to it because of his own similarly crafted “Romneycare” in MA.

Have you forgotten what the shellacking of the Dems in the 2010 elections was all about??

If they disapproved of the law, they would have elected the party that pledged to repeal the law.

The answer is still the same. We need the Senate and the House in order to repeal.

The rest is wishful thinking and theatrics.

During last year’s election season, Obamacare wasn’t yet implemented, nor was it being discussed much by either candidate. Therefore, it wasn’t the foremost issue on voters’ minds (though it should’ve been!) and voters cast their ballots for other more superficial reasons (i.e. - “oooo, I just can’t vote for that cold, heartless, greedy, rich businessman Romney for dissing 47% of the voting population”). But I do agree with your final point... We MUST capture the Senate and the House if we’re ever going to have a real chance of ever outright repealing this heinous law.

Right. And the people aren’t going to hate Obamacare until they see the effects of it. Like their cancellations and higher bills.

We need some patience. We don’t have the political power now to repeal. But we will.
