Beyond Dowd's Vision of Thunderdome
American Thinker ^ | October 13, 2013 | William Sullivan

.........If Dowd thinks Cruz a radical for taking to the Senate floor with his legitimate grievances about ObamaCare and the underhanded manner in which it was imposed upon the American people,I wonder what she might say about Virginian Patrick Henry's response to the Stamp Act of 1765,which whipped American colonists into an anti-British fervor? Britain, trying to raise tax revenue to pay for the French and Indian War,from which the American colonies benefited, issued an edict requiring a government stamp on newspapers, legal documents, and other items. According to historian H.W. Crocker III, Patrick Henry:

... used the Stamp Act to declare that as Caesar had his Brutus and King Charles I his Cromwell so too would "some good American stand up in favor of his country." When the burgesses interrupted Henry with calls of "Treason!" he replied,"If this be treason, make the most of it."

.......Henry was indeed a radical in his time, but to put it bluntly,if the Stamp Act were a molehill of tyranny,ObamaCare would be the Swiss Alps. It is an unprecedented government seizure of power and authority. Private businesses must conform to its myriad regulations or be punished. Individuals must do likewise and, beyond that, must suffer in other ways. Citizens are already losing their jobs, having their hours cut, losing health benefits for their families, having benefits become drastically more expensive, risking the loss of their doctors, being forced into the bill's contraception and abortion mandates against their will, and in perhaps the greatest affront to American liberty in the history of our nation, government bureaucrats,in an aptly named "death panel,"will soon appraise individuals and deem them worthy of life or death in the context of a collectivized, and highly centralized government regime. And to add insult to our impending misery, our federal overseers have exempted themselves, absolutely refusing to take part in a law that they insist is so good for Americans......

American Enterprise Institute scholar Charles Murray interviewed by The Daily Caller

".......Obama’s carefully cultivated demeanor of sophistication drew in intellectuals from across the political spectrum during the campaign, according to Murray.

“It’s kind of embarrassing to admit, but I responded in part to his rhetoric because he talks just like me,” Murray said. “[I]t’s his whole way of presentation of self … of a little of self-deprecation in the argument, and picking out a nuance here, which is all the ways that we over-educated people who have been socialized in the same way. It’s the way we carry on discourse.

“His discourse just was so familiar to me, and along with what was a very engaging personality, I kind of ignored things, which, I think it is fair to say, a lot of working class people glommed onto right away,” he added.

However, Obama’s intellectual air belied an unsettling lack of understanding of the American spirit — and his “you didn’t build that” line revealed that.

“Not that I think that he is not a patriot, but it’s un-American in the following sense,” Murray said. “Remember his line — he said, ‘You didn’t [build] that.’ When he was talking about entrepreneurs… It’s like a Dutch politician coming over here and saying that. The Dutch politician might think you can get away with that here. No American is going to think you can say that, no matter what your political views are, because it’s just disastrous to say that.” ............. source

Wasn’t the real problem with the stamp act that stamps were required to be paid in gold or silver ,, both of which were in short supply .. and not in colonial script?

Gold and Silver , the universal currency.

Rev Michael Bresciani: “...........Since he was first elected in 2008, journalists and pundits have repeatedly exclaimed that Barack Obama is the first president in our history who does not love our country. Being a minister, I always initially refuse a bad report about anyone until there is ample proof; it is the benefit of the doubt. That day has come and gone and I am now among those who believe that Obama actually hates America.

He has smashed traditional marriage, exalted homosexual perversion, used the IRS like a battering ram, left border agents, ambassadors, and good soldiers to die without help, raised the debt to unimaginable heights and now is selectively battering various citizens and veterans with his shutdown. All for his pet legislation, hated by most Americans, the personal idol of his life — ObamaCare!

In fact, I waited a full two years as Mr. Obama harrassed various governors on voting laws and immigration enforcement before concurring with those who say he hates America.

In 2010 in an article entitled “Obama Courts Latino Votes at Arizona’s Expense” I was forced to say “Every time the president speaks, makes another appointment or ramrods a new bill through the democratically controlled congress, he reinforces what millions of Americans now feel; this president does not love America.”

Simply put Mo Dowd is a statist. Their dream is the one-world society although few will ever admit it. Walter Cronkite admitted it shortly before he died. If you could put a gun to the heads of most libs, they’d admit it as well. They love the idea of being slaves and taking orders.

Which is the whole basis for bringing up the forgotten lore of ‘natural born’.

“No!...... I do not have to pay the Obamacare tax!!”

“I worked for two days at the web site and it would not allow me to join. It’s not my fault I couldn’t sign up! “

“I’m not going to pay that damn tax!”

“This is America!”

We should ignore comments by the disgustingly arrogant Maureen Dowd. She craves attention in a world where she’s rapidly becoming irrelevant. The Times has hit the iceberg and will soon slip below the waves. Hopefully, there won’t be a seat in the life boat for Dowdy.

No Charles you are not over-educated.

You are just an idiot that can’t be educated.

No one but an idiot would fall for the old con mans trick of picking out an obscure point to make it appear as if they know what they are talking about.

The problem with you Charles, no matter how much “education” you receive you still don’t learn.

Bill Clinton used the same technique of picking out an obscure point to make it appear as if he knew what he was talking about.

After 8 years of “education” listening to the 2 bit con artist Clinton using the same technique, you still didn’t learn.

That makes you an idiot that can’t be educated Charles.

Trenchant quote. A train wreck in slow motion. But I am bewildered by some otherwise smart people who say they once supported Obama (or Clinton) but no more. The evidence was staring them in the face from the first day we saw this guy.

"“Not that I think that he is not a patriot, but it’s un-American in the following sense,” Murray said."

Murray is a great American. He admits being fooled in 2008 that Obama would bring people together. Anyone who noticed that Obama did nothing to stop his supporters from accusing his opponents of being racist, knew that Obama was a race baiter.

Murray admits he was fooled, but he hasn't plumbed the depths of the deception. After 5 years, he's still under the delusion that Obama is a patriot. Mr. Murray, have the courage to face the truth. Obama was elected in his eyes to bring down this country. His foreign policy backs the Muslim Brotherhood. Obama is unAmerican and anti-American. Face the truth.

They love the idea of being slaves and taking orders.

In exchange for 100% government supplied housing, food and health care for all, then they can play with their obamaphones and have sex with anyone, male or female, it is all good now!

I would say, that most libs have the idea that
THEY will be giving the orders and everyone else
will OBEY.
