Obama’s Confession of Indifference: His strategy is to punish the innocent to score partisan points
The National Review ^ | October 11, 2013 | Jonah Goldberg

Last week I wrote a column accusing the president of having a vindictive streak — of deliberately trying to make the lives of average Americans worse just so he could score ideological and political points.

We already knew from how he handled the budget sequester that Obama liked this approach. He ordered Cabinet secretaries not to do their jobs — i.e., to manage as best they could under spending restraints — but instead to find ways to make the cuts needlessly painful for innocents caught in the Beltway crossfire.

They dusted off the same playbook for the shutdown. As one park ranger told the Washington Times, “We’ve been told to make life as difficult for people as we can.”

Admittedly, the case was circumstantial. There was no smoking gun. What was really needed was a confession.

Obama delivered. On October 8, Obama was asked by Mark Knoller of CBS if he was “tempted” to sign the numerous funding bills passed by the GOP-controlled House that would greatly alleviate the pain of the shutdown. Republicans have voted to reopen parks, fund cancer trials for children at the NIH, and to keep FEMA and the FDA going through this partial shutdown. But Obama has threatened to veto any such efforts, effectively keeping the Senate from considering the legislation.

“Of course I’m tempted” to sign those bills, Obama explained. “But here’s the problem. What you’ve seen are bills that come up wherever Republicans are feeling political pressure, they put a bill forward. And if there’s no political heat, if there’s no television story on it, then nothing happens.”(continued)

If his ‘punishment’ includes mysterious interruption of the EBT delivery system, they had damned well better be sure of the severity, dispersion and length of interruption.

One false calculation and he will have National EBT-driven riots that will feed upon itself and grow out of control. Why? Because the ones he’s messing with are addicted to it and they will not give it up without a massive fight that will more than likely be like spontaneous ignition in a gas storage facility.

I would have altered the headline somewhat. It is not just that Obama is indifferent; he relishes the use of power in his drive for a total Marxist command and control government. The biggest tragedy of all is that too much of the populace is indifferent to Obama’s abuses and cannot be roused from their dependence on his lies and government cheese.

I recall during Sequester, the GOP offered a plan where NOT ONE Federal Employee would be furloughed if they just had a hiring freeze, and didn’t fill positions of retiring employees. The ‘Spite House’ rejected it ...

I believe that is exactly what he is doing.

This one may backfire on his sorry azz.

Obama’s answer dragged on, as all of Obama’s answers do. But the point was made. For the first time in American history, a president confessed to deliberately hurting his country to score points against his enemies.

The hubris of Zero is amazing. No one seems to care. It seems like we are simply waiting for this monster to move on. Where is the MSM? Apparently on their collective knees either worshiping this nitwit, or are so embarrassed for supporting him they are ashamed to admit to creating this monstrosity.

But with whom is he trying to score points? Surely not with the American people. He must be scoring points with the Muslim Brotherhood. This is Obama’s 9/11 against our nation. He is destroying a lot more than 3,000 lives. He is systematically destroying the whole nation!

In November of 2012, we had an election. Many Conservative/Republicans voted for Obama. Many others stayed home because the did not like his opponent. Obama won fewer counties that he did in 2008, but he scored big in suburban, red counties and that made the difference in several key states.

Way to go. And the agony has just begun, we have three more years of this to remind people that elections have consequences.

Sen. Rand Paul is hammering his fellow senators for keeping billions in financial aid flowing to Egypt’s military — even as Cairo’s security forces massacre anti-government activists.

[by “anti-government activists” is meant church-burning jihadists]

Rand Paul’s immigration speech

...The Republican Party must embrace more legal immigration.

Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.

Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.

Let’s start that conversation by acknowledging we aren’t going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.

If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you...

This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society.

Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors.

[but he’s not in favor of amnesty, snicker, definition of is is]
