Cary, N.C. Xerox Commercial Services LLC has notified state officials that it will lay off more than 500 people next month at its technical support and customer service call center in Cary.
The company filed notice of the layoffs last month under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act.
Most of the 508 positions being eliminated are customer care assistants, but some managerial, training and quality assurance jobs are affected as well.
"These reductions, while very difficult decisions, reflect the changing business requirements of our clients," Xerox spokesman Bill McKee said in an email to WRAL News. "The changing demands of Xeroxs clients produce cycles of hiring. We continue to hire new employees in many locations and will continue to hire in Cary to meet the needs of other clients."
The job losses are tied to one client, whom McKee didn't identify. He said officials hope to shift more than half of the people to other positions at call center, working on projects for other clients....

My fund manager told me about Xerox “going haywire” or some stock gibberish but a hot chick walked past and distracted me during our lunch 3 weeks ago. Maybe this was it he was talking about.

Every call I have made to Xerox in the last decade has been answered in India.
