Boehner: Obama gambling with economy by refusing to talk
The Hill ^ | October 7, 2013 | Pete Kasperowicz

Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) said Monday that President Obama is putting the economy at risk by refusing to negotiate with Republicans over spending and the debt ceiling.

"The president's refusal to negotiate is hurting our economy and putting our country at risk," Boehner said on the House floor.

Boehner expressed disbelief at reports that Obama would rather see a debt default than talk to Republicans.

"This morning, a senior White House official this morning said that the president would rather default than to sit down and negotiate," he said. "Really?"

"The American people expect when their leaders have differences, and we're in a time of crisis, that we'll sit down and at least have a conversation," he added. "Really, Mr. President, it's time to have that conversation before our economy is put further at risk.".......

...Obama, who has repeatedly said he will not negotiate withe Republicans until they open the government and raise the debt ceiling, also said Boehner should bring up a clean debt ceiling bill. ...

At some point the New York Times will give up on their guy in order to save the Democratic Party and will probably run a poll "Should President Obama continue to risk the US economy and default by refusing to negotiate with the House?".

I have a hunch George W. Bush is going to make a special appearance sending Obama a public message "Enough is enough!".

Soon the Clintons will distance themselves from Obama as well. The last thing Hillary wants Cruz to do in 2014 is run TV ads asking "Do we really want another 4 years of Obamanomics?"

Someone showed him Season I and II DVD's of Bar Rescue and told him that's what he'd be doing in 2015 if he didn't shape up.

I think the next step should be to pass single topic CRs WITH a debt ceiling increase to cover that amount of funding. This would make the whole Obama voted against veterans and orphans good for a second trip around the track as well as makes the democrats own the default issue.

You’re right. Obama is just plain insane. I’m betting he is and has been on some kind of meds. He’s erratic...like weird...

You have to make cuts...so the ceiling doesn't have to be raised. The debt is unsustainable. The tax base has been hit hard.

We need progress That means fracking and the pipeline, lumbering and mining...including coal mining.

Get rid of the EPA. We lived without it before.

I don’t believe for a moment that any of this is, was, or ever will be Obama. There is a machine behind him, the one that plucked him from nowhere and put him in the White House.

The conflict isn't between the exec and congress, but between Him and the House.

Left unsaid throughout the recent bed-wetting, is the fact that the senate, the world's formerly most deliberative body, these past five years has been a de facto tool of the executive. The senate is a horribly corrupt institution.

The senate represents neither the states nor the people, but exists to rubber stamp and codify the raw will of El Presidente.

Highlights why the vetting of Obama (or lack of) was significant . If you have no alliance to the country or people, the consequences of your actions on their lives doesn't matter.

Personally, I think that meeting the other day where he came away empty handed....0bama told him this was the endgame.

If they sit down and “talk” to him under his conditions, what would be left to talk about? They have to totally surrender on everything their constituents want, before he’ll even talk. Well, let him talk to himself, in that case-he leaves no room for any bargaining, the only “carrot” he offers is the “honor” of merely getting to talk to his “high”ness!

I don’t think he even needs to be on meds (except the “recreational” kind). He is that much of a megalomaniac with an inferiority complex-the worst combination in the world.

And Hussen is teying to complete his South American-style coup by doing the same thing to the House. They will exist in name only, as a figleaf for hos rule bu decree and executive order. The House needs to understand this.
