knew an unarmed woman with a baby was murdered.
Oh for the Lord’s sake.....the police obviously held their fire any number of times as the perp kept up the threat....how were they to know who was driving that car or whether or not it had explosives on board? Of course they had to right to stop the driver....even if it meant life or death.
Capitol police and SS have different rules of engagement. They protect the Power Elite, not mere peasants.

why didn’t those highly trained cops just slide another cop car to the left of her car and thus prevent her from backing up, nearly killing several officers who had to scramble to not get hit, and then with the car blocked in on all sides, shoot out the tires???
So far the surveillance camera videos of the killing is yet to be mentioned much less released. If you don’t believe there is some then I’ve got a bridge I’d like you to buy too. Guess we’ll have to wait for someone like Wiki-leaks to release them.

There was a post earlier with a CNN video link to a witness that claims she saw the child pulled from the car before the mother was killed.
It comes down to this. The car stopped. They ordered her to surrender. She didn’t. As a consequence, they shot her to death.
No doubt at all that this was unjustified.
The capital was on edge. They really thought the folks were going to start a violent uprising over 0bamacare and/or the ‘shutdown.’ They expected trouble. They killed a mentally disturbed woman. Her daughter is now without a mother.
If this had happened in a lily White suburb you can be sure the usual false reverends would be there now picketing and shouting. But DC is half minority, and they were acting under orders handed down from the administration.
The woman needed help, not bullets.

No problem. Constitution is a living breathing document. We can change it any time we want. Not an issue. She caused us anxiety so we ended her. She forfeited her rights when she made us chase her......

I my humble opinion, I believe that Ms. Carey was in a state of panic. New barriers had been recently installed as part of a DOD training exercise just a couple of days before hand.
It is possible that Ms. Carey, realizing that she entered an area she didn’t want to be in, confused with the multiple barriers, tried to extricate herself. In a panic, and confused, she fled. For this—she was murdered by the State apparatus. TO be applauded as Heros for saving the whole of Washington from a confused and panicked mother was kinda sick. Police State here we are.
yeah, bravo to our heros that fired round after round, clip after clip into an unarmed mother with her child looking on in horror. A cookie for all of them.
The family could care less about her. They are only after the money from a settlement. They already had lawyered up and are positioning themselves for a financial settlement — how pathetic.
Was she crazy? I'm not sure. Did she use her car as a weapon? I'm not sure.
She might not be a very good example of a citizen standing up to government tyranny -- but the day comes when good citizens WILL stand up to government tyranny. And the government WILL carry out executions with extreme prejudice.
So I think people might want to be a little slow in cheering for the government guys who are killing citizens. Unless, of course, you like that sort of thing.

One question is why doesn’t Dianne Feinstein want to re-start the “reasonable debate” on gun control? She seems to be a big fan of the government shooters killing their citizens.
I urge folks to read the comments at the article. Even though NY Magazine is a pretty liberal NY Publication (although not as bad as some) with a readership to match many of the comments sound just like Freepers.
I’m not sure what to think of this story, but I do question why they weren’t able to stop the car sooner than they did.
Hearing about the DC case felt a bit unsettling to me as just a couple of days before that situation, there was a similar situation in New Hampshire with a car chase and the driver was also shot dead when she tried to ram a police car with her car.
One more car and you could have blocked her in. Then you shoot the tires, not her. Then you take her in.
Instead, they chose to shoot an unarmed black woman. I guess there aren’t enough black orphans to suit these people. Very caring!
