Another open-air memorial in the Washington area is closed and barricaded off: the Iwo Jima Memorial, just across the bridge from D.C. in Rosslyn, Virginia. A source sends along this picture of the barricade set-up at the memorial, which is also called the U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial:
"I took the picture yesterday afternoon. Those barricades had been there at least a day. People can still walk into the Memorial area, but for many elderly and disabled vets, it is important they be driven and park right next to the statue," the person who took this picture emails.
"There has been no coverage of Iwo Jima being closed and it is a routine stop for Honor Flight visitors."
The source adds: "This picture is from North Marshall Drive (100 yards up the hill from the 110) facing the only road in and out of the Memorial for cars. There are parking spots for cars and buses right next the Memorial that can only be accessed via this road. Interestingly too, the view you see is also the last 200 yards of the Marine Corps Marathon which is in three weeks. That would be 20,000 pissed off runners who have trained for months."

” People can still walk into the Memorial area, but for many elderly and disabled vets...”
Clearly Obama hates the elderly and disabled.
Not just barry-cades, but a 500-lb front-end-loader bucket was dropped in the middle of the road. A-holes!
...now he’s gone and don’t it. That particular location has been used for years as a Barney Frank shopping area. Busy as a major airport with limo’s cruising “pick up”area for the limp wrist set.
What a disgusting lot these demoncrats are...
I drove into DC today via the GW Parkway. There are several “wide spots” on the GW where 10 cars or so can park and overlook the river. They have tried to block those too with yellow tape and temporary barrycades. Drove down constitution ave. Traffic and visitors the lightest I have ever seen in DC. Police blocking things everywhere. Silly as it costs more to barricade these open areas than let the public in.
I can’t imagine all the good Marines, I have met and served with as a Squid, allowing this bs to continue.
And you know that exactly how....????
This administration and the flacks they have appointed are so petty.
At this juncture, it is a toss up which is worse to p*ss off...a Marine, or a retired Navy nurse! (if you are smart, you will call that one a draw ;-)
I am a charter member of the Women in Service to America memorial...I wonder if the Muslimjackassinchief is gonna blockade that one as well?
“10 people should be able to move a 500 lb bucket pretty easily.”
Or any half ton pickup with a 4 wheel drive and towing hooks to attach a tow line to the bucket and pull it away.
Heck my Honda Ridgeline could do that in low gear.
Spray the ground around the bucket with water. Then go and have the head of the Park Service arrested for deliberately damaging a wetlands environment.
Another example of the Kenyan dictator’s “fundamentally transformed” Amerika! Sieg Heil comrade!
Thanks for some good humor in a rotten situation:

It would be interesting to see a couple million veterans close down Washington District of Criminals down.
No problem, shipmate :-) Thank you for your service!
