Closure of War Memorials Continues to Cause Conflict (Vietnam Vets Kicked Out of Wall)

SNIP

Like the hundreds of World War II veterans who came to National Mall to pay their respects this week, a group of Vietnam veterans found a barricade blocking the way to their memorial Friday. News4's Mark Segraves said two U.S. Park Service Rangers manning the gate asked that the group respect the government's shutdown but moved aside.

Segraves described the exchange as pleasant and respectful.

The veterans then moved the barricade and walked down to the wall to pay their respects. But a flood of tourists followed even though the memorial is closed to the general public.

U.S. Park Police arrive to the scene, asked everyone to leave and put the barricade back into place.

Oh please....

What would you have us do? Type harder? Yeah, that ought to banish tyranny from America forthwith!

I hope none of your ancestors were on the bridge at Lexington. Your freaking country is at stake. Don't you get that?

I would if I had a national stage. It’s going to take someone like Levin or Palin or Hannity to call for massive peaceful protests.

Please explain what happened to that woman yesterday. I thought she was shot.

Never mind. You apparently are getting bored. You haven’t tried to start a fight with someone in a long time.

Or Ted Cruz, who's already doing yeoman's work fighting the treason cabal.

In the meantime, do what you can to support those who are actually leading, and try not to spread demoralizing thoughts among the troops.

Did anyone hope for change involving petty, targeted, spiteful, punitive directives, designed to inconvenience and annoy, from the nomenklatura?

Hussein cancels Asia trip to stay in D.C. and not negotiate on the shutdown...wonder how much it will cost to keep a *secret* golf game secret?

Poor darling must be bored to tears.

If the govt is shut down; then why are US Park Rangers on the scene? How are they getting paid?

And why is Obama still running his yak every five minutes?

Many are in their mid to late 60’s while some are older and a few are younger.

I served from 1964 to 1967 and I reached my ETS before things got really bad. I did incur several injuries while I was in the Army which really tie me down at this time.

I was declared totally disabled back in 2006 retroactive to Dec 2000. My army comp and pension “C” file records very clearly document that my injuries were “service connected”.

I still receive no compensation for pain, suffering, and disability despite several appeals and the VA itself stating on my records that everything I claimed were “more than Likely” service connected which is supposed to be an automatic granting of disability pay.

Ah, but the executive branch gets to decide which “services” are “essential”.

For instance, PBS and Planned Parenthood are “essential” but border patrol in hot pursuit of invading drug cartels, terrorists, etc are told to “stand down” because reinforcements are being sent but reinforcements aren’t sent; the money for reinforcements is instead being used for bonuses to the high-ups who give the stand-down orders...

And the critical element, on which Obama is placing all his hopes and audacity of criminality, is the media. If he had any fear of the media reporting this stuff, he’d never do it. The free press has always been the essential ingredient for the republic to continue. The Founders knew it. But we’ve got a press that voluntarily handcuffs itself and serves up bondage tricks for the “lovers” it idolizes. As long as that is the case, we don’t have a republic. We have, instead, the predictable-as-gravity corruption that always results from absolute power.

Who do I blame this mess on? The press. And it’s about time THEY heard from us just as much as the Congress-critters hear from us.

Bright and early post of the day. Don't forget the teachers that started them on the road to marxism.

The Obozo and his thugs in the outhouse and park service need to realize that if they create/cause a Kent State incident with our vets. All hell on earth will descend on them and the rats in congress for the next decade!
