The Park Service appears to be closing streets on mere whim and caprice. The rangers even closed the parking lot at Mount Vernon, where the plantation home of George Washington is a favorite tourist destination. That was after they barred the new World War II Memorial on the Mall to veterans of World War II. But the government does not own Mount Vernon; it is privately owned by the Mount Vernon Ladies' Association. The ladies bought it years ago to preserve it as a national memorial. The feds closed access to the parking lots this week, even though the lots are jointly owned with the Mount Vernon ladies. The rangers are from the government, and they’re only here to help.
“It’s a cheap way to deal with the situation,” an angry Park Service ranger in Washington says of the harassment. “We’ve been told to make life as difficult for people as we can. It’s disgusting.”

The Ladies of Mt. Vernon had the Barrycades and the NPS punks who installed them thrown off their property. The Press Release from Mt. Vernon was posted on FR yesterday.
Did they come back this AM with WIRE to secure the Barrycades like they did at the WWII Memorial?
To bad they didn’t have them arrested for criminal mischief to tresspassing.

I don’t think so. This is a slightly different situation. Mt. Vernon was never closed, but the Barrycades were set up anyway to make it difficult for tour buses to get in and out.
It’s high time for We the People to make our voices heard.
Next they’ll be breaking the windows of conservative merchants.
The whole thing does have slight echoes of Kristalnacht.
At Acadia National Park here in Maine, on October 1st the park rangers woke up people who were camping at 4 AM and told them they had three hours to pack up their stuff and leave.
I heard a caller on talk radio yesterday say he spent the entire day yesterday riding a bicycle on trails in Acadia National Park. While there, he said he saw “hundreds” of other people in the national park.
As an in-your-face act of civil disobedience (and how it is disobedience to visit what is ours?), we need thousands to protest by climbing the WWII Memorial barrycades and sit in.

First they’ll make up some big signs to put in those windows.
GET THESE GUYS UNDER OATH AND LET’S START THE IMPEACHMENT OF THE MUSLIM.
I searched bing and google for a news story on that and couldn’t find it. I guess it isn’t getting much coverage.
