Tuesday morning, seven National Park Service employees were seen erecting and tending to a barricade around the World War II memorial in Washington, D.C. One NPS employee was operating a forklift. There usually aren't any NPS employees working at the World War II memorial.
A couple hours later, when an Honor Flight of World War II veterans arrived, accompanied by Democratic and Republican members of Congress, the fences blocking the memorial were easily moved away, allowing the veterans to enter.
But the barriers are still at the memorial, and they've been reinforced. This morning, I walked by the memorial and noticed that wires had been used to tie the fences together:

Id say even obama could visit the memorial if he was of a mind to.....
Getting there in sufficient numbers is going to be logistically difficult...

I had the honor to go the the museum outside of Bastogne and see the actual letter. It amazes me the courage of General McCauliffe against the overwhelming odd of the German onslaught and the sacrifices these men made are now being taken away from them. I was talking to a man who is in the hospital that I work out 92 years old and was a Graves Registration Lt. during the Bulge, he was telling me they did not have the means to bury the poor guys fast enough. He kept telling me how the bodies were stacked like cordwood and most were frozen and had horrific wounds. He kept pausing and say “ oh god” and would sigh. It was like he was there again. I was tearing up as he talked to me knowing what the bastard of Washington was doing to these me as they are dying. I don’t expect the poor guy to live for more then a week. His body is done and my heart breaks for him and his comrades that have to see our President asshole turn his back on them. My Obama rot in hell with his lord and master.

BTW, I heard a bit on a long ago passed law from 1870, yes, 1870...
That provides our government the authority to mitigate ANY liability to itself in times of financial crisis to close any and all governemtn supported monuments and recreational area (parks and exhibits) from the general public until the financial crisis is resolved...
Even if the monuments were purchased, created, or manned by government park rangers or other security personnel...
Sanitation services at these “open” monuments is also cause for closing them off and restricting access due to Department of Health (and Human Services) statutes...
I still am calling foul on this BS...They are granting for publicity deflection and other surface face saving purposes, an “exception” for those Vets coming in on the “Honor Flights”...To which that exception is a good thing for them, but an insult to them at the same time, and to us, the people...
I’ve already fired off emails to select (effective) Texas Delegates in DC to seek an (court ordered) injunction (Cease and Desist) on this blatant effort by the administration to put the screws to the citizens of this country, who still have a right to view, and have access to these very simple, but important facilities...
I figure its a Hail Mary attempt that they are just now starting to get flak on in their offices...
I am betting they are going to be happy that its the weekend and they don’t have to hear from us activists on this for a couple of days...
Bottom line, every cotton-pickin’ bit of this is bull-sh!t from the get-go...
I thought we had some fairly smart and savvy congress criters up there that could see this already...But apparently we have more feckless, weak and pathetic elected officials that are too scared to shake down the administration on this...Much less a Supreme Court that should be a little more vocal in the legality of this nonsense going on these days...
But hey, what do I know, right???
