Putin criticizes Europe’s secularization
Catholic World News ^ | 9/24/2013

At a recent talk, President Vladimir Putin defended Christian values and criticized the secularization of Europe, according to the Russian news agency Interfax.

“We have been able to see many Euro-Atlantic countries effectively embark on a path of renouncing their roots, including Christian values, which underlie Western civilization,” he said. “Policies are pursued that put large families and same-sex partnerships in the same category, belief in God and belief in Satan.”

“Excesses of political correctness reach the point where there are serious discussions on the registration of parties that have propaganda of pedophilia as their objective,” he continued. “People in many European countries are ashamed and afraid of speaking about their religion, holidays are abolished or given other names, names that shyly conceal the nature of those holidays, and aggressive attempts are made to force this model on the rest of the world.”

“This is a direct path to degradation and primitiveness, to deep demographic and moral crises,” he added. “What can be a better indication of a moral crisis in human society than its loss of the ability for self-reproduction?”

The last Pope was in the Hitler Youth. So yes, people can change for the better.

Putin is also saying we have terrorists here protected by Obama and he gives himself a reason to nuke us... the Marxist language mixes and is militant leveraging on some overreaching discontent.

Of course, if we give them this discontent on a silver platter as idiots voting for zero do, we might end up exiled to Babylon like jews of old.

I look at Putin and think what a disgraceful piece of ghetto trash we have sitting in the White House.

Actually the current pResident of the White House is not exactly 'ghetto trash'. He was raised in an affluent environment, and went to a 'rich' High School in Hawaii. Affirmative Action pushed this underachiever along, and he was able to create a persona and schtick along the way that enabled him to win repeated elections (that, and voter fraud by his handlers also probably helped a lot). I'd call him a con man foisted on us by the God hating Media, but not 'ghetto trash'.

And I’ll wager that you yearn for a “strong leader,” right?

People don’t like their long held views challenged, no matter how weak or irrational. The MSM has shaped every American’s perspectives and views, no matter how they deny it. Where do we get our news? Therefore: Russian leader = Communist, fascism (however it’s defined) = bad, gummint helping the poor = good, and other similar simplification.

The figure of Putin, whoever he might be now or has been (and sorry, but no one here is presenting any knowledge about the man outside the usual superficial crap from the MSM, and no knowledge of how the Russian system of government works, everyone assuming that it is a dictatorship or that it is structured and works, or is supposed to work, like the US government) is challenging these silly brain orthodoxies. I only know that we don’t know. We don’t know enough, so spare me parroting these lines you’ve heard from MSM, ape!

That’s the second time in as many days that I’ve seen you play the “MSM” angle here. Are you suggesting that FReepers are unable to find news on their own?

Where do you find your news if not from the MSM? Secondary sources that ape the MSM? Bulgarian media? Russian? Don’t kid yourself.

you are correct about everything that Putin has done, and there is more about how Grozny was destroyed... etc

at the same time there were some godly leaders in the old testament who also did terrible things

so, i am not sure what to make of putin, other than i think that people who question his religious commitment are on dangerous ground

Putin is unapologetic about his Christian faith which is more than you can say about many in north america

Russia has had a Muslim problem for a long time. He is acting in his national interest. See Beslan school siege or Beslan massacre. Nearly 400 killed.

We're at the point now where Europeans will gladly euthanize their own young children rather then make any attempt to spend money, time, and sweat to comfort or heal them.

Yet atheists claim to be more moral than Christians....BAH!

He is surrounded by Muslims and Chinese to the south and if the Muslims continue to infiltrate Europe maybe on the west too. He seems to recognize that this is a fight to the death. The Chinese seem more rational but the Muslims are downright insane from our perspective. Probably more and worse Islamic terrorism in Russia than in the borders of the USA.

I constantly find myself asking, What is he really up to?

Putin saw what Christianity did to America and now he wants to use it to turn Russia into a technological and economic megapower. Idiot-infested America and Europe will be crushed underfoot.

Putin has murdered more people than the average jihadi or atheist lunatic could DREAM of killing. That he is able to con people even at FR into believing he is a “Christian” is testimony to his KGB training in disinformation.

Be that as it may, he is smart enough to know how to strengthen a nation's culture and everything that goes along with it....regardless of the true intentions. He'll have his Russian empire if he keeps this up.

More like Putin telling you what you want to hear. Since he doesn’t heave the USSR/KGB apparatus to keep Russia under his heel, he is using religion. He’ll toss that aside too when it no longer suits his purposes.
