TheBlaze posted a story earlier this week about a group of truckers who are planning to “shut down Washington, D.C.,” for three days starting Oct. 11 to protest the “corruption against the Constitution.”
The Facebook-fueled movement, “Truckers To Shut Down America,” states that truckers will refuse to haul freight, and they’re encouraging others to not shop or bank during that period.

I have hear rumblings about something happening in DC area late this year....
Truckers aren’t going to shut down America. Most are driving a truck owned by someone else and most owner operators are barely getting by doing the work they’re paid for.
Yeah, truckers who cannot find loads during harvest season [snort] will shut down DC to the point that DHS must respond. /s
Slow down, creep, bumper to bumper through DC. Lean on their air horns and crawl through green lights at intersections.
There are tons of ways to slow down the trucks. Even the drivers for corporations can work to rule. They can call out. They can take extended breaks. For goodness sake, they could just drive the speed limit.
Every little bit helps.
Easiest way to do this is to run ^every^ 18-wheeler in the right lane at 55MPH. Ramps MUST yield to road traffic.
If the long-haul-drivers can coordinate to get 1/2/3-thousand trucks to legally fill the right-lane starting at 07:45, you will see an exceptional protest by the transporters of the market society.
This can be done in every city of the US with little coordination effort. Meet at the truckstop/rest-area, take a number and send them out.
I think the protest would have more impact if the truckers simply refused to drive in to Washington, DC, but continues driving everywhere else.
As you can tell, most Americans live in a fantasy world when it comes to trucking.
There’s another mass resistance everyone can do. Don’t participate in Obamacare.
When you get sick or injured, tell the hospital you tried to sign up but it didn’t work, but you know you’re covered, Obama said so. Tell them to just send the bill to the exchange.
Wish the m'fers in California understood that.
Congress will trump them by closing the .gov (including D.C.) on Oct 1st.

I like your idea better. Stop all truck, rail, and trains in and out of D.C.
I know, but...if they stick their nose in where it don’t belong and cause an accident, they are on the hook for thei impudence (tort actions from, what...100 drivers?)
Yes they can. All food moves by truck and if you piss off these wonderful Americans they can make you sorry...and hungry....and without gasoline.
There’s no reason why it’s just truckers participating.
It’s just a matter of showing up, like the bikers did and the Tea Partiers do.
You can yell yes they can all you want, it doesn’t change the fact that they won’t.
Our country has been fundamentally changed and most certainly not for the better. One way or another I would like to show some resistance. If we band together we can win. If we’re going down, I want to go down fighting!
Wrong. I’ve seen this in Europe. It is an extremely effective tactic. No exaggeration: a dozen trucks can effectively shut down a city.
