Pope Francis is significantly upping the Catholic Church's buzz quotient, but another congregation is hoping to take America (and other countries) by storm. Like Methodism and Episcopalianism, the Sunday Assembly is a British import, but with a difference: This church doesn't believe in God. It's motto is "live better, help often, and wonder more." It's striving to be a global atheist religion.

I thought scientology was pantheistic?
It’s actually good for believers if they establish their church. Because they want to make their religion the state religion, and it will be harder to do so, if they acknowledge it’s a denomination, so to speak.
*Next theyll be evangelizing.*
They already are.
They’ve been preaching the State Religion of Atheism for
the past 40 years in public schools.
They have been “evangelizing” through billboards, bus signs and Starbucks cups.
They want to drag as many people to Hell with them as possible without even knowing who directs their steps and whispers lies into their ears.
“And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind”
Romans 1:28
More judgmental for sure. Not sure about piety.
Google the ‘atheist bus campaign’. Richard Dawkins is financing it.
Think Globally, Act Locally.
You better believe in Atheism or else you’re going to heaven.
You better believe in Atheism or else youre going to heaven.
I want my 72 virgins when I get into heaven, because I am a complete nerd and want some nerds to play DnD board games with....
Because..? If there is nothing to live better for, or if I don't "feel" like helping, or if there's nothing to wonder about, why should I do it? Just because?
They will worship themselves. This whole “church” is a platform for narcissists.
Most likely services (assuming anyone will attend, since they’ll be too busy doing their own thing) will resemble the EST-like pop-psych groups of the 70s, with the emphasis on loving the self. I can’t even imagine a community with any of these people.
The word “Church” refers to the body of congregants gathered in the name of Jesus. So, how can atheists have a church?
Why not? Here’s a list of anarchist organizations.

Does no one know the word oxymoron? How about irony?
I always thought a name that sounds like a leaf spring snapping to be kinda funny.
Spong Spang Spung isn’t the only atheist Anglican bishop, BTW.
Atheism is a religion just like the others it professes to despise. Atheists rail against a Deity they claim does not even exist. Go figure.
Maybe this new “church” will erect a statue of their Great Flying Spaghetti-O Monster or whatever. Screw ‘em.
What’s wrong with the UUs?
------------------------>
If they show up at our door, (*whisper*) we're not going to answer. Heh....
Why not? Half the churches out there are primarily social clubs oriented more around pot lucks than God. So what’s a guy that likes potato salad but isn’t into the whole God thing to do?

Tom Cruise...........and we will be made to watch ALL of his movies - over and over and over........

Just made for Obama.
Narcissist that he is, you know he'll want to sign up.
There is no bigot like an atheist.
atheism - the doctrine or belief that there is no God; disbelief in the existence of a supreme being or beings.
religion - belief in and reverence for a supernatural power or powers regarded as creator and governor of the universe.
"atheist religion" is an oxymoron.
