It's amazing how little President Obama has learned about economics in his four and a half years in the White House. Growth, incentives, tax reform, tax increases, private investment, the middle class, a second great depression, the sequesterall these issues have one thing in common: Obama doesnt understand their role in our economy.
The jobless rate is 7.3 percent. But if the millions whove dropped out of the job market altogether since Obama took office in January 2009 were counted, the unemployment rate would be 10.8 percent. In other words, the United States faces a permanently larger pool of jobless Americans, says the American Enterprise Institutes James Pethokoukis.
The median income was $51,017 in 2012, close to what it was in 2011 but below the $55,627 level in 2007 (before the recession). The peak was $56,080 in 1999. The Census Bureau is just tracking pre-tax, pre-transfer, non-fringe-benefit market income, Pethokoukis wrote. So, the bureau said, median income does not completely capture the economic well-being of individuals and families.

So Khruschev did in fact pound his shoe and deliver those quoted lines?

I was a little boy at the time but all of my adult family were up in arms over it. He pounded the shoe alright. Some dispute what he actually said (in Russian) and others dispute that this happened at the UN and happened with the Eisenhower administration in private talks. I also remember Huntley and Brinkley discussing it on the news. I also watched William F. Buckley as a child. I have always been into politics.

Yes, the shoe thing happened right there in the UN and many witnessed it, but I don't see any evidence that he spoke the quoted lines on that occasion. That quote comes from Eisenhower's secretary of agriculture, a guy named Benson, who claimed Khrushchev said it to him during a meeting. I don't see much reason to doubt Benson's recollection, but those lines aren't in the public record anywhere. As I've googled for more info, I keep seeing conservatives quoting it as though it's a well established fact, then getting beat up when it turns out to be one guys's memory.

He said it. Does it really matter where he said it? obama and the rats have been fulfilling kruchev’s threat since the 50’s. The left has always tried to protect their communist overlords.

Nah, having your facts straight doesn’t matter.
To: Yardstick
I guess that it matters whether he said it in the UN or in a one on one meeting with the US. Deny his threat and tell me that it hasn’t come true.

Liberals have done a good job of advancing socialism in the United States. We all know that here.
The reason it’s important to have your facts straight is that people read what’s written and take it into battle with the lefties. It’s best not to set them up to look ridiculous by posting easily refuted facts.

Agreed, when the fall comes I hope all those useful idiots in the media are the first to be sent to the Gulags for final determination as is usually the case, because they would be the true believers and cause the most problems for the new totalitarian masters. The rest would be sent to reeducation camps, the rest to the final solution as Bill Ayers associate once laid out to an FBI informant

The Forgotten Man by Amity Schlaes is a great book on Depression economics. The Forgotten Man is the taxpayer, the man not being “helped” by the latest wealth redistribution scheme from Washington.

This can’t be true. When Bush was in office, and unemployment was below 5%, it was the worst economy ever. Nancy Pelosi said so.

When it was explained to him that historically every time the Capital Gains tax was lowered, revenue increased to the government. Obamas instructive and guiding principle response was, does not matter,it was a matter of fairness. Thats it FOLKS,his guiding principle, hatred and getting even, Yup.

I remember Fred on election night 2008... along with krauthammer and both were giddy over their new communist overlord... both said that he was a moderate that would heal the world. This article sounds like old Fred may have awakened to the truth... 6 years later!
