Yes, We Are the World's Policeman

In his speech to the nation on Syria last week, the president twice emphasized that America is not the "world's policeman." According to polls, most Americans agree.

Unfortunately, however, relinquishing this role assures catastrophe, both for the world and for America.

Not any more. And the rest of the world is finally going to experience the consequences of that, after years of demanding it.

Yep Wilson, FDR, Truman, JFK, LBJ and the “Military-Industrial Complex” made damn sure of that.

"First, the world needs a policeman. "

No. It doesn't need a cop. It needs a "shining city on a hill," a beacon of hope, a bastion of freedom.

"Take up the White Man's burden
The savage wars of peace
Fill full the mouth of Famine
And bid the sickness cease;
And when your goal is nearest
The end for others sought,
Watch Sloth and heathen Folly
Bring all your hope to nought."

- Rudyard Kipling

Policeman isn’t really the right term. But there is a role for a world power to play in enforcing their will on others. If not us... Someone else will. No sense asking who we’d prefer, since we won’t be involved anymore. If it is Russia or China...? My bet would be on a new pan-Arab Caliphate. A new superpower with all the money they could ever spend and the will of Allah to enforce around the world.

Even if Prager’s assumption is true, the point about Syria was, it was all about saving Obama’s credibility, and risking American blood to do it.

IF Obama was so truly concerned with saving “innocent people from being abused by a dictator”, why doesn’t he do anything about the poor people in North Korea? Sudan? Tibet? They’re all being abused too. (Don’t they deserve the “world’s policeman”s protection too? Where does it end?)

But with Syria, he had set a personal “red line” that had to be enforced or Obumble would lose face. Everybody saw thru this charade and refused to play along - Oboingo only got saved by Kerry shooting off his big yap.

The simple fact is that America is in worse financial shape than Detroit and the “We just gotta” clowns like Prager are no better than the clowns who cratered Detroit.

Every war we’ve fought since 1990 has been on behest of the Saudis.

Taking out Saddam was an errand we did for Saudi Arabia.

Bosnia and Kosovo were about establishing a European base for spreading Wahabbism.

Exactly. That’s what people are not getting about this.

One of the biggest problems of empire is overextension. You rack up war after war to “keep the peace” and double, triple, quadruple taxes to pay for them until the whole edifice collapses catastrophically or grinds to a halt with hyperinflation.

If we are the world’s policeman (arguable), there is one significant problem:

The Police Chief is always on vacation, playing golf, choomed up, or giving one of his standard speeches about the evil neanderthals who still believe in the constitution.

He has no time or desire to actually do the job he was elected to do.

It is time for me to obtain the collected works of Rudyard Kipling and read every word he ever wrote. Only in the seventieth year of this incarnation have I begun to realize the wisdom of his words.

Mt. Prager: If there is someplace on the planet which we are tempted to “police” for some perceived potential for a future direct threat to the USA — just nuke it.

Okay?

This is from Investor’s Business Daily. Of course they want the US forces fighting for all of their globalist domination schemes.

Prager uses this bizarre analogy about cities needing police or the city will be overrun by thugs but refuses to accept the fact that most cities are overrun by thugs already. In fact, I think having too many police makes people too reliant on them. My little town disbanded our police department a few years ago and there has been no increase in crime because we rely on ourselves.

Statewide we have fewer and fewer police in Michigan but the crime rate continues to drop in response to the rising number of armed citizens.

Fewer cops, less crime: MLive investigation finds Michigan safer even as police numbers decline

While the Detroit crime rate is astronomical compared to most of the nation, it also leads the nation in defensive shootings as the non criminals arm and defend themselves. Eventually the balance will shift because the people can't rely on police and are forced to rely on themselves.

That Caliphate is their vision, but the Arabs are running out of oil reserves.
No one nation should enforce its will on others. There is a natural 'ganging up' against any nation that tries. Just as Hitler tried and had a large group of Allies confront him, the Muslims are starting to pi$$ off a lot of countries, from the US to China, India, and SE Asia, from Darkest Africa to Scandinavia and Russia. Thus, their vision will fail.

Here's a good place to start: Kipling Poems
Among my favorites is "Soldier an' Sailor Too." I consider myself truly blessed to have lived a life much like his and the characters in his writings.

Thanks for the Kipling verses -- always good to see:

"Take up the White Man's burden
The savage wars of peace
Fill full the mouth of Famine
And bid the sickness cease;
And when your goal is nearest
The end for others sought,
Watch Sloth and heathen Folly
Bring all your hope to nought."

Ain't that the truth! It applies to US major cities, as well as internationally.
