The best shot at defeating ObamaCare
FOX News ^ | Sept 17, 2013 | By Jenny Beth Martin, L. Brent Bozell III

Grassroots conservatives who want to stop ObamaCare are making their voices heard. There is evidence that their elected representatives are starting to listen, and it is good.

When Congress left Washington for its August recess, the voices demanding action to prevent American taxpayers from paying for ObamaCare – described by its chief Senate author, Democrat Senator Max Baucus as a ‘train wreck’ – were faint and few.

Senator Mike Lee drafted a letter calling on the Senate to fund everything in the upcoming Continuing Resolution (CR), except ObamaCare.

Every Republican in the Senate is on the record calling for defunding, but only a handful would agree to put their name on the letter.

In the House it was more of the same. The GOP leadership in both chambers refused to lift a finger to help.

The response to this indifference was seismic. Thousands of Tea Party Patriots and like-minded citizens rallied in town halls across the nation in August. Tens of thousands flooded Congressional offices with phone calls, furious at this betrayal.

House Speaker John Boehner and Majority Leader Eric Cantor were rattled enough to float a plan defunding ObamaCare in the CR. Or so they hoped conservatives would believe.

That CR was doomed to failure from the start. Another CR was in the works, this one fully funding ObamaCare, and this one would surely pass.

The cynicism was breathtaking.

Republicans would vote to fund ObamaCare while telling their constituents they had voted to defund ObamaCare. The grassroots were not fooled by this sleight...

I credit Ted Cruz mostly for upsetting Boehner’s and Cantor's little apple cart.

a better idea is to run one insurance company out of business
by sending them all the sick people, and to encourage
the non-sickos not to sign up.

what insurance company(s) is pro-Democrat?

This train wreck is a slow motion event.

I don’t think it will be stopped.

When thousands of people that never realized they have been forced into “paying” for something that they don’t need or want, we may get one person that gets the right lawyer that finds the right judge in the right jurisdiction that advances a case back to the supreme court.

In an era of "crony capitalism" a more appropriate question would be "is any insurance company not pro-Democrat".

If the republicans don't defund it, they will own it. What happened in Colorado will be nothing to the well deserved thrashing the incumbents will receive in 2014.

It only takes one a couple minutes to email his or her respected representative in the house or senator. They will probably never read it but their staff will see that they get the message. Really does not have to be a long formal response.....just a few words like NO OBAMACARE....("if it is not good enough for you it is not good enough for us") This will convey the message. While you are at it one might well also mention a BALANCE BUDGET AMMENDMENT.

To put this in context.

The UK “National Health Service” employes 1.7 million people serving a population of 63 million.

And they have been at this for some time now.

The US with a population of say 300 million, following the same ratio as the UK, would need to employ 7.8 million people to administer Health Care.

This would be double of the current largest employer in the world, the US Military at 3.2 million.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_largest_employers

There is NOT ONE SINGLE RATIONAL person that can believe this clusterF**k of bureaucracy and fraud will be nothing more than the creation of a permanent voting block of civil servants.

All at taxpayer expense.

THIS IS MAFIA STUFF !!!!

And BTW, where do you think all the unemployed and under employed will find jobs as ZeroCare kicks in ?

Are we going to keep them from those jobs ?

We have been gamed.

Set, Check, match point, whatever.
