They aren’t going to shut down America. You might get some owner operators to DC to raise hell locally but the vast majority of truck drivers are driving someone else’s truck and generally don’t see grand theft as a viable career choice.

I can assure you of one thing.
These truckers, who have a lot of time on their minds while driving, don’t listen to POP music, they listen to conservative Talk radio.
I don't see anything about this in their list of grievances above, so I'm not getting too excited about their mini-strike.
The transportation system really stepped in it when it started to favor trucks over trains for a large majority of movable commerce (all) The original vision was a truck and train marriage of sorts which saw train tracks going east to west and north to south and trucks taking the shipments for rides taking a day or less travel from the tracks. Low fuel prices were the initial culprit but track and train maintenance soon dug the train system’s grave. Now though, super efficient engines pulling hundreds of cars for mere pennies a mile has started a railways regrowth. It’s smart and the truckers continue on and don’t have to show their asses each year in DC.
The protest comes on the heels of a massive biker rally held in Washington D.C.,

This would have to be done by independent truckers, and most of them have already been put out of business by high fuel costs and regulations. I am not sure there are enough of them left to make this work.
That's the card they should play. Demand drilling on our soil.

My advice , stock up before they come.
Not expecting anything big from this Convoy...
Compare to the recent 9/11 motorcycle ride. A bike might need a couple of gallons of fuel to get from wherever to DC... cost to typical biker less than $30, plus tolls.
For an 18-wheeler, my search is turning up 6 MPG at best. Diesel is, what, $4/gallon? THat’s gonna add up to mucho dollero! For each 500 miles to travel, that’s $335 per truck
And, to top that off, a BIG CUT of the purchased fuel to make this convoy is.... GOVERNMENT taxes!
...and rampant corruption in Washington D.C. furthering the country’s economic death spiral, America’s truck drivers, like the majority of our fellow citizens, are fed up.
I'm sure 0bama's Dept. of Transportation will have something to say about that. Then again, Eric "The Red" Holder will sic the FBI on them. Or maybe 0bama will sic Big Sis on them?

Wonder if they would stop air freight because of this ? No trucks to move the freight would cause the freight to back up in the cargo facilities.
while the trucks are there, the corrupt and treasonous trash needs to be loaded up and hauled out.
Fuel for trucks is expensive, but oil prices will go up regardless. Increases in uses of trains for freight are inevitable.
