GLASTONBURY, Conn. (WTNH)-- A man walked into a Glastonbury bank Monday and said the word 'gun' to a teller. He also tried writing a note. But, he wasn't robbing the place.
It happened at the TD Bank North in Glastonbury. Police say Robert Gursky was at the teller window when he noticed a man with a gun tucked under his shirt. He said gun to the teller, wrote a note but never handed it to her and then walked out of the bank.
They triggered the panic alarm.
"As a result of the investigation of the bank employees, he was cited with breach of peace," said Agent Kevin Szydlo, Glastonbury Police Department
It turns out the man with the gun was in law enforcement.
Police say using the word gun in a bank is the same as yelling fire in a crowded theater. Mr. Gursky says it was all a misunderstanding, he only meant to do good, and the miscommunication was the problem.

According to this dope anyone carrying, other than the polizei, causes alarm.
What if you’re of the Clan Gunn and want to make a deposit?
Do you mime your name?
I’d challenge this in court.
Everyone knows you’re supposed to say “chemical reaction propelled kinetic projectile launching mechanism” to avoid any sudden comprehension which may lead to an overreaction.
No, you wrote 'I have a gub.'
It sounds like the ignorance cancels each other out in this case.
Huh?
That seems like quite a stretch.
I would say the teller jumped the gun; but that’s liberal for ya.
It is a concealed carry state for those with the proper permits.
Concealed carry means people can’t see the weapon. If it is in plane sight you have failed at concealed carry.
Excellent! Woody when he was funny.
Maybe you could nibble a Pop Tart into the shape of your name....
Just don’t say it in a bank ;)
It would also seem that he is confused as to whether anyone can carry concealed in his state, but that doing so seems like the better choice....maybe....or maybe not....he’ll get back to us on this matter...sometime.
*rimshot*
And...now I’m craving Pop Tarts.
:-\
“I’m sorry, you’ll have to have a bank officer sign your note. “
The guys behavior was provocative, and odd. He had the weapon visibly stuffed under his shirt, he approached the window, started writing a note and said “gun”.
When I was in the Army, I was often armed with a side arm on the Strasse (in Germany) in uniform either with a concealed 0.38 in a shoulder harness under my field jacket, or a 0.45 on a pistol belt. I never made any attempted to act like a bad ass or draw attention to myself or intimidate anyone.
It doesn’t matter what state you are in or whatever their laws, walk down the street with a firearm in view and unless you are a uniformed guard or policeman someone will call 9/11 in short order and police will pounce. You will be lucky not to be shot by them if you don’t obey their orders fast enough.
Gursky is a typical Ct liberal idiot. Probably parks in the fire lane at the store.
He will cry in front of the judge and be absolved of his pussified stupidity.
