As if it didnt have enough problems on its hands, the U.S. now finds itself in a debate over one of the unchallenged notions of U.S. national consciousness. The argument was set off by Russian President Vladimir Putin, who clearly knows what buttons to press to quickly get Americans riled up. Button number one is American exceptionalism, the notion that the U.S., based on its values and history, occupies a unique place in the world.

Debate? Bite me.
Putin has a point. We’re not so special anymore. Just another socialist welfare state.
On this Putin is right. We used to be special. Now, we're kinda like a washed up professional athlete who can't pay their bills.
If the imposter wasn’t such an effeminate spineless clumsy pathetically weak empty suit, he and Putin would get along much better seeing that they both hold the same opinions of America.
The Exceptionals are not the Americans Putin is meeting face to face, far from it, but rather the Americans who Putin goes around staging pictures of himself pretending to be.
......this is something every Christian believes---an article of faith for Christians.....and, not coincidentally, the bedrock of our constitutional republic........
==============================================
Now, I view Putin's NYT op-ed as a post-grad master's thesis, wherein one postulates a theory then extrapolates. Clearly, Putin was eager to proclaim his Christianity and seized on "exceptionalism" as the word upon which to lay the foundation for his proclamation.
We, the people, know we will never hear Obama say anything even remotely religious.
=============================================
And let's not forget, Putin also defended Egyptian Gen al-Sisi in his recent effort to drive the Muslim Brotherhood out of Egyptian politics. Putin was there for al-Sisi when the general vowed to rebuild the 63 churches torched by Muzzies who rampaged over Christian homes and businesses.
Nailed that one, did you.
Well Vlad, we were special till Bambi came along.
Perhaps you can help us be special again - keep humiliating and torturing the little bitch so we can finally get rid of him.
Anyone, and I mean, anyone, born outside The Continental 48, can accurately grasp, the breadth and depth, of the term, “American Exceptionalism”.
Before the USA was born:
Japan, already was, with it’s own feudal, non-freedom culture.
Russia, already was, ditto.
The European Countries, already were, ditto.
There has not been a nation directly conceived in FREEDOM, until the USA was born, so nobody, no how, no where, else in the world, at that time, and still today, “gets it”.
The bottom line, the folks that made America free, stood up, and told any and all royalty, anywhere,
TO KISS MY GRITS!
(and spilled blood to prove it!)
Whatever special status the US once had started disappearing with the election of Obama in 2008, and completely vanished with his re-eleciton.
Now we’re the BSA — the Benighted States of America. Welcome to the post-American century.
Just as "freedom of the press" does not refer to a group of people, but rather to the mechanisms of delivering information to the populace, American exceptionalism refers to the unique concepts that make us free....the ability to think, speak and act on our own behalf and for our own benefit.
Nowhere else in history was this available to people. It is the application of these concepts which makes ordinary people exceptional and able to do great things.
Semantics counts folks!!! We have let the left co-opt our language and define terms to THEIR purposes for too long! When you hear someone mis-using a term such as this please--reeducate them.
Funny how Obama’s Press Corpse is stirring up patriotic fervor when they have been the biggest proponents of anti-American Exceptionalism for decades.
And Bill Ayers said, “Amen, bro! No, wait. I mean. Screw you, comrade! No. I think I had it right the first time. Ah, ferget it.”
Putin is wrong.
65 million people who voted for Traitorobama are special — they are traitors to the United States of America.
May the last thing these traitors see before their ignominious death is their spawn mocking them for what they did.
I don’t expect Putin to understand what American exceptionalism is, or that our Constitution, Bill of Rights, Founders and our celebration of individualism makes us special. What strikes a nerve with me is that the Obama regime doesn’t understand it.
Putin might just help get a Republican elected in 2016.
Think about it: Hillary is the Democrat anointed nominee for President. No ifs ands or buts.
As putative successor to a two term prez of the same party, Hildy has to run on Obama’s record. No “it’s time for a change!” stuff. Hillary has to say “help us to continue the great legacy of President Obama!” or she’s toast to the Dem fat cats & kingmakers.
The harder Putin hammers Obama, the worse Obama looks. This is unavoidable because Putin has cred. Before the current Syria business is over, Obama will have the foreign policy stature of an annoying two year old.
Now, Obama may attempt to compensate by throwing more bread & circuses to the low-information crowd & give Hillary a domestic Santa Claus agenda to support, but how far does that go?
Vlad may turn out to be just a little too successful in his Obama belittling campaign, methinks.
Just goes to show- Putin understands what is meant by American exceptionalism about as well as Obama does.
Know who understood it very well? The passengers on Flight 93 who, as soon as they realized that they were on a suicide flight, did what true Americans do. THAT was exceptionalism.
Don’t expect the incompetent in the WH to understand that anytime soon.
