PRUDEN: Measuring Putin for Mount Rushmore
The Washington Times ^ | 13 Sep 13 | Pruden

But ridding Syria of its chemicals won’t be easy

If you’re reading or listening in the wrong places, you might think they’re already measuring a place for Vladimir Putin on Mount Rushmore, sandwiched between Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln. That’s where Barack Obama, who may have to give Mr. Putin the Nobel Peace Prize he won for doing nothing, expected to rest one day.

Before the sculptors with their chisels board a train for Rapid City, the euphoric legion should stop to figure out just how Mr. Putin and his client, Bashar Assad, intend to dismantle the stocks of chemical weapons. Easier said than done. The general consensus seems to be that the dreadful potions can be packed up in a couple of days and dispatched to a hole in the ground, never to be seen or thought of again. The Swedes could then get on with casting the Nobel medal, preferably in platinum instead of the cheaper bronze.

FREEPER ComtedeMaistre posted: Many Americans (who are Obama sycophants) will laugh at the idea of Putin---a former KGB officer---making reference to God. But the Christians of Syria and other parts of the Middle-East are not laughing. The pro-Islamist government in Washington wants to see the Christians of the Middle-East exterminated. The Christians of the Middle-East view Putin as their defender from radical Islam, in much the same way as the Christians of Eastern Europe saw Reagan as their protector from communism.

COMMENTS And let's not forget, Putin also defended Egyptian Gen al-Sisi in his recent effort to drive the Muslim Brotherhood out of Egyptian politics. Putin was there for al-Sisi when the general vowed to rebuild the 63 churches torched by Muzzies who rampaged over Christian homes and businesses.

Now, I view Putin's NYT op-ed as a post-grad master's thesis. Clearly, Putin was eager to proclaim his Christianity and seized on "exceptionalism" as the word upon which to lay the foundation for his proclamation.

We, the people, know we will never hear Obama say:

"......when we ask for the Lord's blessings, we must not forget that God created us equal," as Putin wrote in the NYT.

......something every Christian believes---an article of faith for Christians.....and, not coincidentally, the bedrock of our constitutional republic.

===========================================================================

Our incompetent boob of a community organizer, and his equally incompetent sycophants, have calculatedly turned our "shining city on a hill" into a third world hellhole.

LET'S STROLL DOWN MEMORY LANE---2008 Obama was a pop-up candidate---came out of nowhere---groomed by Chicago criminal politics. After he got elected---his handlers admitted they let the media know only what THEY wanted them to know. Obama was cued to say all the right things---hope and change---even said he wanted to be another Reagan (probably the biggest lie any presidential candidate ever uttered).

Obama slipped up only once---and it was a whopper---he told Joe the Plumber he wanted to redistribute the wealth-=---a classic Communist phrase. Unfortunatly his snively RINO oppenent McCain never bothered to explain what that might mean for the once-powerful US economic engine---now in ruins.

The sculptors would have to ride in a box car to get to Rapid City—there are no Amtrak routes anywhere in South Dakota.

God gives us equal rights to go to hell or accept His grace and be with Him for eternity but we are all individuals and not created equally nor given equal talents.

Putin is using the media for his propaganda. When he professes Jesus as the Son of God and kneels confessing Him as Lord of his life and Messiah of Israel, then I believe some of what he says.

Well, Putin is not America’s friend, but at least he’s loyal to his own country. And he’s trying to contain the Muslim extremists.

The neo-Con pseudo-conservative pundits all seem to think that Obama is behaving like some kind of Whitaker Chambers. Sure he is, if—instead of “peace in our time”—Chambers had offered to help Hitler out by bombing Poland and Czechoslovakia.

Obama wanted to bomb women and children in order to help out his Christian-killing Muslim pals. And Putin stopped him. Was that bad? For Russia OR for us?

The problem isn’t that Obama failed to go to war. The problem is that this is about the third war he has tried to fight ON THE WRONG SIDE. And in this case, in a very dangerous place.

Christ admonishes us not to judge others lest we be judged. No one knows what's in a person's heart.

Besides, we don't know that Putin hasn't professed Jesus as the Son of God and kneels to Him as his Lord.....he doesn't have to do this publicly.

It has been reported Putin always carries a cross given to his by his mother.

You do realize that Whitaker Chambers is not Neville Chamberlain, right? One was a former communist turned conservative writer who testified in front of the House UnAmerican Activities Committee and the other was the Prime Minister of Great Britain, if you are not aware. Oh, and if you think about it, Chambers was a neo-Con.

Right. It didn’t sound quite right. I should have checked it. Otherwise, my comment stands.

I don’t know what is in Putin’s heart, maybe he is playing us and putting on a show.

But my theory is that once he met and listened to the words of Aleksander Solzhenitsyn, it had a profound effect on him.

That is true.
Thing is, and good one that he was KGB. Why? Those guys were trained to have common sense, and to have no ideology whatsoever. Blank boards. Their minds were not poisoned by communism. But even in USSR people were Christians. Not publicly, but lets say in WWII All of the Soviet field-marshals were baptized and practicing Christians.

Putin would have served the Czar, if they were still in power.....He believed in Russian power, regardless of what the political ideology was.

Nice pics—thanks-—the cross seems to be emblazoned on Putin’s forehead.

On another level, it does seem appropriate to link O'Bambi to Whittaker Chambers, since Chambers is the man who translated Felix Salten's novel Bambi into English.
